^^nascar is a team sport. it doesn't matter how much experience your driver has, its all about how much and how well the teams use their resources . just look at joey logano at the arca race last week. a 17yr old waxed the field including ken shraeder.

I guess that's good for fantasy, but wait and see where they end up tonight. I'd bet big on Vickers and Menard finishing way ahead of those two old fucks. And one of them is an EARNHARDT KILLER!!1

Anyway, it's funny how Clint Bowyer is 38th. He had a good shot at winning last night, so we'll see how your in-your-face-qualifying statement goes, sir.

And bethaleigh you need to lighten up. I'm just fucking with you.

like i said, i'd take vickers over elliott or any of those guys 19 out of 20 times

Darlington is the 1/20

btw my a and b listers are Biffle, Jr. and Johnson (qualified 1,2,3 )

I think Riggs was the highest qualifying C lister at 9th maybe...Riggs and Vickers have been the best C listers this season but on a track like this i'll take an old guy like Elliott who has won at Darlington 5 times...even though the last time was in 1994!

How many times has he won at Martinsville? Because I believe he caused one of the first cautions in March.

Sorry Scrumples, I was really tired. I just woke up from a nap and see how bitchy that came off.

I see this situation about how Tree Twista does.

The stands won't be packed like they are for the 600... but it won't be empty. You have to think about how many people will not go to the race simply because their driver is not going to be racing. You need to just go ahead and buy you a cheap ticket to the 600. And buy a cheap ticket so that you are sitting in the sun amongst all the drunk, rowdy race-goers and you can take part in their shenanigans! It will be FUN! Lucky1 and I do it every year and we become friends with the people closest to us before the first 100 miles! Then you can be like me, the only person standing up cheering for many rows when Jimmie Johnson takes the lead away someone like Kasey Kahne/ Earnhardt Jr. All the little 12 year old girls (who are fans of the cute guys) will flip you the bird and pout and scream at you to sit down, like they actually know what their tits are in a flutter about. I will be missing it this year since I will be in Montana, so you won't be able to pick me out of the crowd!

The frontstretch will be full, turn 1 and turn 4 will be from half to mostly full, turn 2 will be very scattered, and the backstretch will be empty.

^pretty much spot on. 600 will be packed as always. And I have promised my group that I will wear a shirt into the track this year.

I guess 600 miles of my drunk half naked ass wore on them

Turn 4 hasn't been full for a couple years now.

Bruton and Humpy charge way too much for tickets.

From Lowe's Motor Speedway homepage:

The Pennzoil Victory Challenge will take place on the frontstretch of the 1.5-mile superspeedway at 6:15 p.m., just prior to the start of the Sprint Showdown.

Each driver (5 total) will be in similarly prepared Richard Petty Driving Experience cars wrapped with Sprint All-Star Race decals.

A $10,000 donation will be made to the winner's designated charity.

Pennzoil Victory Challenge Breakdown:

* The drivers will begin from a standing-start, triggering the

electronic-timing system as they breakout of the "Start Box."

* A full drag racing-style, tire-smoking burnout must be maintained

from the "Start Box" to a designated transition point.

* Upon reaching the transition point, the driver will throw the car

into full 360-degree spins without crossing onto the apron of the frontstretch or they will receive a time penalty.

* The driver then must maneuver out of the donut and sprint into a

"Victory Lane" marked on either side with traffic cones and into the "Finish Box," stopping the clock. A time penalty will be accessed for hitting lane marking cones or the end cone.

* The winner will be determined by the fastest time after penalties (if any) are accessed.

I've never watched this before, but I think I may try to get there for it this year.

I've been to The Rock and Piedmont Drag Strip a few times in my day...

Its just that I've been to the All Star Race so many times but have never seen the Victory Challenge.

Maybe I've gone to a football game but didn't get to tailgate. Maybe I got there at the end of the 1st quarter.

I just never get there in time. The past 2 years, either I or my boyfriend have had to work that afternoon, and never get there until the race has already started. Before then, I don't really remember WHY I missed the beginning, but I just did.

I never said I wanted to see only the burnouts either, I want to see the WHOLE CHALLENGE. It's before the race starts - so its easy to miss unless you plan your evening around getting to the race on time. Which, I have had other responsbilities and don't worry with getting there for the pre-stuff. I just wanted to see the race.

^^it was in HD on speed but twc wont have that channel for years.

pretty good race overall. still think they need to give the cot more down force and front end travel so we can get more side by side racing on bigger tracks

I have no clue, but for some reason Speed felt the need to tell their audience in almost every commercial break they've had this year.

Yep.

I wasn't aiming my comment toward you, I was aiming my comment at the ridiculous overhyping of this race that Speed did.

haha i was pullin for sam hornish just so i could see his "sideways" car run well and stick it to nascar. Its gotten way out of hand how they can bend the frame rails so that the car appears sideways even though it is actually straight

gg by his team for just taking advantage of a gray area

I want to know if LetsTAILGATE had a good time? It was more full last night than it was 2 years ago, from what I remember anyway. We didn't even sit in our seats because we had turn 3 seats again, but we sat right down from the start/finish line on the first row. During the Victory Challenge, Kevin Harvick burned the tires like 5 seats down from us. I really enjoyed the victory challenge, and loved that Jimmie Johnson was one of the drivers - even though Kyle Busch rocked it! Lucky1 caught a bag of Peanut M&M's that his pit threw over and I let Tony Stewart know how I felt about him since he was right in front of me. We had a pretty good time.

^^ the frame and body are actually straight. They just change the "truck" arms to make the right one longer, meaning the wheelbase on that side is longer and the car wants to constantly turn to the left. Dirt trackers have done it forever. There's no way NASCAR would let the teams mess with the body and chassis construction on the new car to the extent they were twisting the old car.
