I also agree that UNC losing last night helps us, but only if UNC loses 3 more games and we win out (unlikely scenario). Not to mention that the other 3 times ahead of us in the ACC standing would also have to lose at least 2 more games and we would still have to win out (Also unlikely scenario). Therefore, it only helps that we get to watch UNC fans bitch and complain.

I dunno, duke played great, but carolina was still within 5 with about a minute left - I have to believe that with Lawson they could've won this game. Thomas looked like crap, and their perimeter defense was suspect. He could've helped remedy both of those problems. Of course, he couldn't have helped Ellington shoot better, which was another issue.

Not that there's an excuse to losing this game, everyone has injuries, but to say Lawson playing wouldn't have given UNC a much better chance to win is pretty silly.

And I really hope Montross isn't the next Bilas. Bilas does typically have accurate commentary, but man is he boring and arrogant. Him and Digger together make college gameday pretty un-entertaining.

i agree w/ whoever said it's retarded to argue that UNC wins if Lawson is playing. I'm a Duke lover for the ages surrounded by heels fans that were making excuses before the game even began. If your star player goes out w/ an injury tough shit. One person doesnt make a team and if you're that one dimensional, it's no wonder they barely scraped by clemson, davidson, gt & have 2 acc losses

you can't say what would've happened with lawson because it woudl've been a whiole different game. with lawson in they could have lost by 20, 1, won by 20 or lost by the same. and lawson does help ellington's shooting because he gets him open. duke was able to lay off of thomas (even gave him a few drives) but they wouldve had trouble stopping his drive. teams usually leave ellington to hlep on tyler or lawson but when theres only one guy you need to help on its easy to stay with ellington. he's not as good as people make him out to be. he's just the product of being the only shooter on a team with 2 unstopable inside players.
