For the guys who got 300 level seats, don't worry. Next year, don't show up to any games except the UNC game, you're bound to get floor level seats that way

its definitely a great way to build the fanbase. you gotta figure the people that come to all the games in november and december will be there regardless so put them upstairs and put the new people in the best seats to try and win them over. before long you'll have enough dedicated ones to fill it up everytime. 2/13/2008 8:37:53 PM |

4^I have had people behind me for every game. We have asked club members to get there earlier to have a full sideline before tip-off.

we had just enough tickets for everyone who camped out to get one, and the on demand tickets(if they have any left) will go really quick 2/15/2008 10:36:41 AM |

Quote : | "Campout incident clarifications
In response to statements and opinions printed in the Technician regarding the recent UNC-Chapel Hill basketball ticket Campout, I would like to provide the following information to clarify any confusion or misunderstandings that may have arisen. First, some history. Over the last several years, Campout has been an event that has been planned according to rules that were jointly established by Student Government, Athletics, Campus Police and Student Affairs. One of the decisions that came out of this collaborative planning was to equally divide available tickets between Campout and the on-line system. The rationale for this decision is that students who cannot or don't want to camp out should also have an opportunity to obtain tickets.
This year's Campout was moved to a different location and included numerous activities of interest to students. As a result, registrations for Campout increased dramatically and eventually exceeded the total number of tickets available to students. When I received information that the Campus Affairs Committee of the Student Senate, in response to this situation, had made a decision to provide all of the available tickets to students who camped out, I was concerned because this decision deviated from the past agreement and had not been discussed with all of the other responsible parties.
It was on that basis that I responded and indicated that the tickets should be split as had been the case in the past. Late that evening, I talked with Bobby Mills and Jay Dawkins, both of whom argued strongly that the plan to give a ticket to everyone who camped should remain in place. During those conversations both of those students indicated that they understood and agreed with the need to split the distribution of tickets as had been done in the past and that they would support that procedure for future Campouts, but to change what the Committee had just decided would not be a good outcome. Both of these students presented their arguments strongly and in a mature and responsible manner. After I listened to their arguments, I agreed that they were right, and I told them to move ahead with their plan.
Campout was a tremendous success, and I am very proud of the work that Jay and the Committee did to plan the event, and I am proud of all the N.C. State students who were there and showed their support for our team. However, anyone who criticizes Bobby Mills or Jay Dawkins for not standing up for and advocating for students in this instance is entirely mistaken.

I kno thats what im saying
Im considering writing to them and seeing if they print the real truth to it all. I cant believe Tom would write that in such a manner, its like you two were there at the same time and both agreed.
basically, that article makes you look bad, even if he states at the end theres no reason to blame you, it seems like you were part of Bobby's regime. 2/15/2008 2:44:48 PM |

haha. stafford is such a fucking airhead. Whoever is in charge of campout next year should limit it to people who have been to a certain amount of games. These bandwagon "state" fans or closet carolina fans shouldn't be getting good seats while those who have been to every game are sitting out near jupiter somewhere.

That should have been the headline to this letter, instead of "Campout incident clarifications."
Stafford, can you shed some light on things for me?
1) How exactly do you explain away Bobby Mills' email at 4:11pm on 02/07/08 to you saying (and I'm directly quoting here) "I totally agree with you" regarding your decision to cut the tickets for campers -- mere hours before Campout began?
2) How exactly do you explain away Bobby Mills' lies in using Zach Adams name in that email to try and support his argument ("Zach Adams and I warned the committee" re forcing people to camp out for tickets), when he knew that Zach had made absolutely no such claim at all -- and anyone who knows Zach would know how ridiculous such an accusation would be?
3) How exactly do you explain away Bobby Mills' shifting explanations after he was caught in those aforementioned lies, first claiming he had nothing to do with your decision, then after his email was exposed claiming you were referring to next year's Campout, then claiming he only supported cutting 700 tickets, before finally letting you come and bail him out with this letter?
If there was ever any question that the University administration has a clear preference in the upcoming Student Body President's race, this should be the proof -- Bobby Mills is their pawn.
How can a Student Body President claim to stand up for students' interests when he owes University administrators for stepping in to salvage his name in the press?" |
