If only the Dutch could put their U-12 team out there against Romania and let the Romanians win to knock out Italy and France.

well the dutch are definitely gonna play their "reserves". cause a loss doesnt hurt them at all. so yea i wont mind romania winning.

glad I caught the Holland/France game.

Really really entertaining. France looked the better of the two for a decent chunk but couldnt get anything to go in. And I am now a huge fan of Ribery. THat dude was playing balls out for the whole match. I can definately see why people say he is the heir apparent to Zidane. Too bad no one on the fucking team could do anything else.

Holland definately looks dangerous

netherlands and portugal are the teams to beat so far in this tourney, no doubt(unless spain looks absolutely dominating tomorrow). group of death has been highly entertaining outside that romania v france match. does anyone how they are televising next rounds games?..since they are on at the same time

the euro2008 website shows both group games being at the same time 20:45.

when i meant next round, i meant next batch of games in the group stage, not as in quarterfinal, semifinal, final round...my bad, i can see how that sounded wrong

yeah I think they usually play the final fixtures in group play at the same time, I thought that's how they did it in the World Cup too... I could be wrong

France was jobbed over on that blown pk.. a goal there completely changes the game as France were straight dominating... doesn't excuse many of their blown chances, including that Henry breakaway but still that's a pretty huge missed call. Props to the Dutch for slamming the door numerous times

the simultaneous games are basically to ensure that teams don't play out a particular result after knowing the fate of the other game. just like on the last day of the premier league.

ribery the heir apparent to zidane? hahahahaha
i gotta say he's exceeded my expectations but france really needs some stars to fill in zidane and other players shoes that have left, right now they just dont seem like a top caliber team.

and netherlands just seem strong at nearly every position, even their bench is able to come in without bringing down the play, im impressed.

its amazing the guys they have on their bench currently though, its a really strong squad but im not sure about their defense.

france has so much talent, theyre just poorly coached. I dont know why the hell they are starting toulalan and makalele, those guys have had such a negative impact. I hate to say it but they could actually use patrick viera

He pretty much controlled that team today by dictating the runs and building up the plays that lead to pretty good chances on goal. I just like him cause you could tell he was one of the few that looked like they actually gave a fuck what was going on. Like you said, if he had some more support around him he would really be killing it.

They needed trezuget (sp?), but the coach and him dont get along because he fucked the coaches wife, as well as, being upset with playing time.

Dude is pretty damn young so he has a lot to learn. I mean look at Van Persie and C. Ronaldo. They got playing time when they were real young and look at them now

trezeguet? hes like 31 years old. He was on the team when they won the world cup in 98. Benzema, Nasri and Gomis are all under 22 years old i think so they should have a good team in the future.

puyol off for an injury and albiol comes on for him. will this derail spain?

sweden need to capitalize on setpieces...possibly a spanish weakness.

ibrahimovic scores. sweden level.

superb crossfield cross but in truth, poor defending by the center backs and casillas might have done better.

from the bbc commentary...

1808: I'm hearing that Sweden have taken off Zlatan Ibrahimovic as a precaution over his knee injury. A wise move, but a shame nevertheless.
