if he was simply drinking, I don't see the big deal in terms of it being news. Now if he got belligerent and started breaking shit and smashing glasses or whatever, that's different.

Obviously it's a really really bad thing for a recovering alcoholic to even have one drink, but that's HIS battle to fight, and it's weird for it to be news.

I don't get Ernie's distaste for Josh Hamilton. I understand not wanting to worship the guy...but I feel like everyone else makes his situation (and I mean everything, not just this particular incident) as big as it is. Josh seems to be pretty humble (at least average humbleness for a professional athlete).

Our own Ernie was a top prospect himself back in the day; unfortunately for him, Hamilton was in the same area at the same time and stole all the headlines. It all came to a head during an ugly incident in a regional playoff vs against West Forsyth, when Ernie, in a fit of rage, ran on the field in a misguided attempt to break Hamilton’s arm. Ever since, he’s always held a grudge.
