We are beyond pathetic. We have no offensive gameplan but to just pass it around the perimeter. Sidney Lowe just does not have the basketball knowledge to coach beyond the middle school level. 2 of 15 from the perimeter is not acceptable. I don't see us winning more than 1 game in ACC play.

Marion High School sucked dicks tonight, yet for some reason they played the entire game. Wood actually played good D so I can't complain too much, but why CJ williams isn't playing the 2 when he's a better ball handler than Mays is mind blowing.


^^thats just not true. They hit some horse shit tonight from like 10 feet behind the line, then they back doored us after that. We forced more turnovers with agressive play tonight than we did the entire season last year, we just didn't convert on offense.

D was not the problem (for the most part) tonight.

javi and smith both played well. painter played well in the first half, but i don't remember seeing him in the second. we shot atrociously.

mays sucks asssss. The one time he made a decisive move, he got a fast break lay in. My diagnosis is Courtney Fells syndrome.

Javi needs to get himself into shape to play 40 mins a game.

Horner sucks, wood raw. everyone else is raw.

Tracy smith played well, but he was the reason our comeback failed. On that screen for thompson, he HAS to step out and hedge. There is no other option, there. He has to do it in order to stop that drive. Fundamental rule of college basketball: stop the opposing team's point guard.

We have been very bad at playing screens in the lowe era. You would think a team that practices pick and roll all the fucking would know how to defend it.

he didnt shoot very well but I dont think javi had very many TOs at all. thats all you can ask for from javi all things considered. K just checked he had 4 to's with 6 assists. he was the only person to hit a 3 tonight


He also was the only one attacking their zone, which usually ended up with a bucket or FTs

I think people are disappointed because its the first televised game and people were all talking up this team like they weren't as bad as we thought.


We also could have won this game with slightly less than bad offense, but we played like donkey cock. Plus, The combination of Scott Wood and Julius Mays played like 60 minutes and scored what 2 points?

horner does not suck. have you seen any games this season?

you can't judge a player like horner by a game against a 1-3-1 trap in which he was taken completely out of. 95% of this game was played way out at halfcourt. obviously thats not a horner game. It wouldn't be a dirk game either.

the only thing i am disapointed in really is the defense. lowe doesn't teach it. we don't play any ball screens right or player screens. we are never in good defensive rebounding position (outside of smith). we just don't play any aspect of defense correctly and that is frustrating. anyone can be a decent defender, maybe not great, but decent. Lowe is a poor defensive teacher IMO.

offense is what it is. i don't particularly like some of our sets and smith should seriously get 30 touches a night but we missed a lot of open shots. can't blame the coaches for that. but our defense is atrocious.

^I'm starting to wonder if you people bitching about our defense actually watch the games. If a guy wants to pull up from 30 feet and knock down a 3 in your mouth, thats not bad defense.

no one can attack the defense off the dribble except for javi when he wants to. mays does not need to be running the point as much as he is because he doesn't push the ball at all. it's gonna be a struggle this year, we knew that coming in.

i liked what i saw out of smith, horner, javi and davis. we need the rest of the team to match their intensity. other than wood's shooting drought, i thought he played well on d, got a nice block and a few deflections, he just needs to get more aggressive on offense.
