they should go back to the old days and hit up smaller short tracks on weeknights..but not enough money involved in it

i'd love to see them go back to south boston or orange county...but those places are incapable of handling nationwide crowds, much less cup ones

Not sure what it was like on tv, but it was a fun race to be at in person. The 9 couldn't get the run or bump he needed to challenge the 29, but a 2nd is a damn fine showing. I could have done without the rain at the start, but it wasn't that big of a deal. Especially after sitting through the 24 hours of Charlotte last season. We didn't make it back to Gainesville until 4 in the morning though.

I really think some of the Cup teams trying to unseat the 48 should put me on the payroll so that I can attend all of the races. I've been to 5 points events this season and Jimmie Johnson has had major crashes in three, broke an axle in one, and was not competitive at Atlanta and finished 12th. Zero top 10 finishes and an average finish of 30th in those five points races. Hell, if you can even include the all-star race and the shootout. He finished 13th in both, spun himself out in the all-star, and wasn't competitive at all in the shootout.

^ It will be interesting to see the result. It is time for a repaving though. The pothole delay sucked ass in person. Hopefully, it won't ruin it even if the racing is different. I'm planning on going to all of the Cup Speedweeks races next year so hopefully it will still be an awesome show.

tonight's race went like this. 140 laps of Brad K. being a slightly faster car than Carl and Kevin Harvick. Then for the next 55 laps there were a lot of cautions for various reasons. The last restart was at lap 199 so Brad and Carl ran side by side for just over a lap and Brad slid up 1/2 car width and touched Carl a tiny bit in turn 1. Neither car lost a position to the third place car and at worst it'd be called a bump and run. Coming off 4 Brad was in the lead and gave Carl at least 3 car widths to go to the outside. Carl didn't drift up to the outside and get a run and instead hooked Brad in the right rear, spun him into the outside wall, then he spun down to the inside wall before being hit broadside by 2 other cars and wrecking about 4 rookies and lower funded teams.



Basically, FUCK CARL EDWARDS.

Thes no slightly to it brads car and crew were the best I've seen in a while. I mean he spun out under green flagv stops and fought his was back to the front.

Carl needs points and races taken away. Ill be very supprised is nascar doesn't take this win from him.

Fucking pussy was smart to pull the car into victory lane and celibrate there. I'm sure he would have been shot with a sniper rifle if he went down the front stretch.

incident is another in the "have at it boys" racing mentality. fun to watch but i do feel bad for the NW owners who have to pay for all the trashed equipment when they are barely squeaking by to start with.
