charlotte is a garbage locale for the ACCT and it should never be there again

gboro typically embraces it and the tourney has been great every year its been there until this year. Sure its a small time city but its the biggest thing they get so usually the atmosphere is awesome. We have no MSG to use...DC and Atlanta sucked, so much so that the next time it's in Atlanta they arent even having it in the Georgia Dome

I shot the Miami game for The Miami Hurricane student newspaper.

HERE ARE MY THOUGHTS:

Frank Haith is a pretty bad coach I think, that's why "miami was so bad this year." But yeah earlier in the year they just weren't very mature and were a bunch of headcases. You don't get down 52-17 in the first half at Virginia Tech unless you absolutely suck. But I'm glad they kind of turned it around.

Why did Miami's main inside presence Reggie Johnson absolutely NOT play in the final three minutes? He had four fouls, not five.

Why does Haith take timeouts immediately following momentum-boosting Miami three-pointers with six minutes remaining? I have seen him do this repeatedly this year and it's baffling.



The first half was amazing. I got chills when I saw all the NCSU fans cheering for Miami.

I am excited about Durand Scott's future. He is a baller and I hope he stays all four years. I am excited about Dequan Jones coming out of his shell and actually doing things unlike in his freshman year and most of this year. Excited for Reggie Johnson to get more playing time next year in Dwayne Collins's absence.

I am also excited to see James Dews graduate, because he is horrible. He's supposed to be a senior leader, not someone who scores three points total in the second half and does stupid shit like commit an unforced turnover followed immediately by a frustration foul on a made basket.

I really hope UM and NCSU both make the NIT.

I think the ACC is a lot stronger than the media is making it out to be, we're just beating up on each other. I think the ACC will have an overall strong showing against the rest of the NCAA.


But yeah, the 2nd half officiating was mindblowingly lopsided. Reggie Johnson was getting manhandled by Duke's bigs, I felt bad for him, he was getting really frustrated. It's like the officials just seriously hated him

Oh and yeah, I was extremely upset that Haith decided to just give up with 3 seconds left.

Actually, after Duke inbounded the ball a possession earlier with ELEVEN seconds left, I heard Haith say NO FOUL, but we fouled anyway. This wasn't a "Hey, try to steal the ball, don't foul," this was an "OK let's give up." So he wanted to quit even before that last play. WTF.

look at schedules from bad teams. bad teams don't play consistent enough to run the table against teams they should beat. even though the schedule was easy. winning every game tells you they aren't a bad team. miami ncstate unc were not bad teams at all and if you look at the conferences from bottom up acc is right up there. It just doesnt have a good top like the other conferences.

ya they have talent but they dont know what they are doing. favors is the only one whose talent is enough to overcome the fact that they have no idea what to do. last year with lawal they were last place.

their guards have potential but are AWFUL college players right now.

I actually agree with Mamba here. Georgia Tech is disgraceful on the ball. Without Favors they probably don't win 3 ACC games... Lawal is good, but he was good last year.

Favors has a NBA presence on both sides of the ball. I wish Maryland beat them... Duke-Maryland was a great game to watch.

They added a lot more than favors and lawal wasn't even the best player they had last year. Last year they sucked because they had poor guardplay, a short bench, and a terrible coach.
