nolan hasn't screwed up a batman movie yet so i'm going to reserve judgement on any decisions until after the movie.

Anne Hathaway though, she looks way to fake as Cat Woman.

I don't know what it is, and I can't really explain it, but she just doesn't seem or look right for this role.

While she is hot, I don't see the "OMG HOT AS FUCK" that some of you do.

I don't see her totally fucking up the role, but I don't see her owning it either.

To be fair to jbrick (and I hate to be fair to jbrick), lots of folks initially shat on the Ledger selection. His biggest success to that point was spooning Jake Gylennhall.

Perhaps originally when it was announced, but I think once people saw him in costume, it was calmed down a bit.

Hathaway just doesn't look like she is pulling off Cat Woman. At. All.

People were relentless with the Ledger selection. Check out his filmography up to that point. Yeah, he was solid in the Patriot, but else? Lords of Dogtown? The Brothers Grimm? 10 Things I Hate About You? There was no track record to show he could play a character like that. And not only did he succeed, but he made Nicholson's Joker look like a bumbling idiot in comparison. He knocked it out of the fucking park.

Listen, you can say whatever you want to about the first two batman movies. But they had this right. That cat woman has always "felt" right. Not specifically anything like costumes or whatever. But the feel of the character was correct. If this new cat woman doesn't seem half mad/crazy there is very little justification for her actions.

Just from pictures, this new cat woman seems to.....mentally healthy.

I kinda agree here. I always understood Catwoman to be a sultry character. I don't really associate that with Hathaway. I think someone like Scarlet Johansen would have been wonderful this role; her voice would suit it well.

Disagree! Nicholson's Joker was great! They are just two different styles of movies telling the same basic story. Ledger was more of a violent psychopath but Nicholson was more of an intelligent mob boss.

Also, I love the part when Batman is about to beat the hell out of the [Nicholson] Joker and he pulls out a random pair of glasses and says "You wouldn't hit a guy with glasses would ya??"

part of it is Catwoman works best as a comedy camp character - i.e. the '66 show.

every time DC has tried Catwoman in a "drama" it blows. Michelle Pfeiffer was terrible, Halle Berry was terrible, this will be terrible.
