..hate being at the bottom of the page, cause i like attention and all:
Quote : | "ssjamind's predictions for how the coming season will culminate:
1. Florida State: 18 returning starters will make all the difference.
2. NC State: O-line & D-line make this the quintessential TOB team. We will play "run first football", averaging 4 yards per carry, and Glennon will be an apt game manager.
3. Virginia Tech: O-line & D-line will keep Va Tec playing Beamer-ball.
4. Maryland: Still has a lot of athletes & Danny O'Brien will carry a lot of the burden.
5. Georgia Tech: Lot of moving parts and gaps to watch out for, but will finally come together. Well coached.
6. Clemson: Lots of athletes & open playbook, but I'm not to high on their coaching.
7. North Carolina: Lots of athletes, but lack of football IQ starting at the top and ending with a new QB, will keep University of Brokeback Mountain out of the top half.
8. Miami: Wildcard. If instituting a run first offense, could do better.
9. Boston College: Better on paper than on the field. Been riding on TOB era momentum, which is now waning.
10. Wake Forest: Young and lacking athleticism but coached well enough to stay out of 11th or 12th place.
11. Duke: Duke being Duke. Could end higher & will pull a few upsets.
12. Virginia: Need to bring strength and conditioning systems up to ACC standards.

Will finally come together? They won the ACC 2 seasons ago? I'm not buying it. I think the ACC has caught on to that little-league offense. I agree with about everyone else though.

Those Dinich predictions are terrible.
What I am noticing from her, besides the terrible analysis is her florida-area homerisms for some reason. She's also the one, EVERY YEAR now for the past 3-4 where she has one of the florida-school (ACC teams) QB's as a Heisman Candidate.
I'm not discounting FSU's returning starters or the fact that they were really good last year, but to once again, tout EJ Manuel? come on. Unless this kid has matured a lot and become much much more consistent, the Atlantic is pretty wide open minus WF,BC.
Also as another astute poster mentioned, MD is way too far down, DOB is really good, we all saw that. 5/14/2011 8:26:27 AM |

I don't really see UVA finishing 12th.
Mike London is a good coach and it looks like their recruiting has picked up. I'd put them somewhere from 8-10 I think. 5/14/2011 8:28:24 AM |

To be fair, she is ESPN's ACC blogger. She can't go picking a non-ACC guy for the heisman watch. The idea is to get ACC fans to read her shit. Also, historically the two Florida teams are the only true football powers in the conference, and as a result they tend to have some of the higher caliber QBs.5/14/2011 10:07:53 AM |

DY interview from wolfpacker
Quote : | "Q: There seem to be a lot of little things going around here with facilities. At Carter-Finley it's a new scoreboard.
"Two-million scoreboard at Carter-Finley, massive scoreboard, high-def. The whole surface of the structure can be used for replay, and when you're not doing replay you'll see that change digitally into our sponsors. So when we want to see replays the entire surface will be used.
"We're also hoping to make some improvements to the East side of the stadium around the restroom area. They have the tennis renovations underway, building six new outdoor courts with a grandstand for men's and women's tennis.
"We also have the work going on at the soccer stadium where we are building a press box, molded seats, and two team buildings for both the home team and the visiting team to use."" |

From GoPack on E.J. Carter
Quote : | "In 2010: Redshirted the season after transferring from Syracuse ... WIll miss spring workouts.
At Syracuse: Started eight games as a true freshman in 2009, collecting All-Big East Freshman Team honors ... Played primarily at weakside linebacker ... Recorded 24 tackles, including four for loss and two sacks ... Had 14 tackles in his final three games ... Posted eight tackles at Connecticut in his final game with the Orange. " |
So he missed 2010 because of transferring/red shirting, and is now transferring elsewhere? What the hell?

It's simple math
mid may + player leaving = spring semester grades sucked.
It's in line with what TOB said before spring practice about Carter. 5/18/2011 3:53:43 PM |

In grad school at CU, and I'm officially a member of the athletic department here (tutoring athletes.) I tell people all the time out here - the kids, especially d-linemen, on the football team are so undersized you literally wouldn't think they're from football. The defense has been atrocious the last few seasons here. I hope the kid is awesome, I'm just saying as transfers go, there's not a lot of talent in the cupboard here.

If Glennon sucks it up and Russell ends up going to Auburn, TOB is going to take more heat than other NC State figure in the last decade. I agree with what TOB did, but I have a bad feeling about all this. Best of luck to RW.

it the right decision based on him having to play baseball until sept.
Now all of a sudden he will be done with baseball in June.
The painful part will be the RW Heisman watch, but all of the highlights will be of him in a NC State uniform.... 5/24/2011 3:04:05 PM |
