Brewers or Cardinals will win the division, the bandwagon will need its axles replaced well before you reach Oregon, and you won't be able to afford them because Martin got typhoid and drowned while trying to ford the river

Jesus Walden just about gave me a heart attack. Luckily he got through it tonight. Weaver picks up his 14th W.

that is the worst fucking call ive ever seen in a baseball game. Maybe the worst in any sport.

19 fucking innings and they end the game like that????

Guy was out by 6 steps at home plate.

Fuck baseball, such a gay ass sport.

after watching that play a few times from a few angles... It honestly doesn't look like McKenry actually got the glove on Lugo... just swiped air... either way a shitty way to end a 19 inning marathon

Rasmus to Blue Jays for Edwin Jackson.

St. Louis seems to always be good no matter what, but I think they are giving up on Rasmus too early.

Beltran to Giants for Gary Brown (33rd on BA's midseason list) plus.. At least if you believe every expert..

But Olney just said Zach Wheeler is in it. That'd be awesome!

Lol at the al central. No team has scored more runs than allowed. Do the right thing and give the Rays or Angels the playoff spot.

Damn I am surprised by the Rasmus trade. Braves were interested in him in the offseason. I wish the Braves would have made a run at him offering up some pitching. Better than going after some short term rental who may or may not do any better than Rasmus.

Rasmus has not had a great season by any stretch of the imagination, but I'd take him over pretty much every OF on the Braves team except Prado.

Rasmus supposedly was "not listening to any of the Cardinals coaches" and already spat with La Russa. Even Pujols made a comment about a new guy acting like that and talks are that he wasn't really liked in the clubhouse. I'm kinda meh about it. Jackson could be good with Duncan's help, Rzepczynski is an upgrade over Trevor Miller, and Patterson/Dotel are decent vets for backup roles that are FAs at the end of the year.

They'd be in second place, a game and a half out. And that's without playing a shit division schedule.

let's just end the season right now to make a point about how shitty the al central is. speaking of shitty division games, I'm pretty pissed that the sox have already played shitty justin verlander, the shittiest pitcher in the MLB, four shitty times already and it's not even august.

(for reference he pitched against the sox twice last year)

It's obviously hyperbole but you dont seriously think the Rays wouldn't be the best team in that division. Playing the Sox/Yanks 36-38 times has a lot to do with their record..

You don't get bonus points for playing in the AL East, despite what ESPN tells you...

Considering that the Rays are 16-14 against the AL Central and Detroit is 23-13 against the AL Central, no, I don't think the Rays would be the best team in the AL Central. No one in the AL east has really run train against the AL Central. Amazing!

Verlander's ERA versus the Sox this year is over 4. Chicago's problem isn't Justin Verlander.

Chicago's problem is Dunn/Rios/Peavy. Verlander is just a tough guy to beat.

Irabu never lived up to the hype but in 1998 he actually was a decent pitcher and was a candidate to start the all star game.

Fact: Hideki Irabu won the Pitcher of the Month Award twice... Mike Mussina never won it once.

Pence to Philly. Gave up King's ransom but no Brown.

Enjoy the next two years Philly. Wish you nothing but playoff losses.

Here's to Atlanta's 9-man rotation in 2012

^i'd be a lot more concerned about Ubaldo from a couple seasons ago when he was arguably the best pitcher in the NL than the Ubaldo that gave up 4 runs in 1 inning to San Diego tonight

although certainly he could've had a trade on his mind and not been focused, but he hasn't been lights-out this season by any means

2.88 ERA on the road. +5 at Coors. He's a damn good pitcher. Going to be even better out of Colorado.

he is a damn good pitcher, but he's also one of those guys that relies on being "effectively wild" when he's in the groove

tonight he wasn't in the zone, he walked 4 batters in his only inning

I'd love to have him on my team, but he hasn't scared me in 2 years

but I guess Cleveland figures the Central is so bad, he could put them over the top
