JGBFTG: I was right behind the VT goal for the second half and they murdered Leslie so many times it wasn't funny, the non-goaltend for Lewis, and the shittalking by Raines whenever we went to the line were all beyond absurd. And then the non-lane violation, Christ. They were in the lane early for Green's first free throw and did nothing about it. Mike Eades was on another planet today, he wasn't even watching the game. When Gottfried called for one timeout, he was about two feet in front of Eades calling for a 30 and was screaming and waving his arms and the ref was a deer in headlights.

I simply can't believe that on a play where VT was going to do everything possible to get the rebound the refs weren't looking for things like that blatant violation. There had better be some disciplinary actions.

wood got that and one on a shot where the guy barely brushed his fingertips, then vt had about three or four 3's where we did the same thing w/ no call

acc ref's have been letting everything go late this year for some dumb reason, lets not blame them for our continued bad D and missed free throws.

the reality is that this team is much worse than people thought. we should have destroyed VT and Clemson, but we won in nail biting fashion.

I still think we can somehow pull it together and peak come March, but it's going to be a wild ride from here on out.

^^ Agree that wasn't a foul - but Wood sold that - is that the best example you have to counter the calls against us?

- Green taking 4 steps in the 1st half on his drive by Lewis
- Green carrying the ball in OT when doing his "spin"
= Green getting and-1 on the steal against Howell when Howell clearly doesn't foul him (even if Green initiated a little contact - compare this to EVERY play Leslie had down low that wasn't called)
- The foul on Howell when dude goes over his back
- The charge on Brown where dude was moving (hard call to make, sure)
- The obvious goaltending on Lewis' lay-up (HORRIBLE no-call)
- The obvious lane violation miss

I remember a couple of holding calls, perhaps, that they called on VT where I saw nothing...but you can't seriously say that the questionable calls were even - VT received so many breaks.

I thought our defense was meh - we looked good at times, and VT made some wtf 3s and shots with guys in their faces (expected from Green, but not the other guys). We had some lapses, which every team has, every game - we just had maybe 2-3 more than the average (not saying that's good...just sayin). Also, we just looked tired on defense in overtime, giving up those 3's on switches.

Seriously, there should be punishments handed down for the FT violation. Dude's not supposed to be in front of either the FT line or the 3-pt line? HE WAS IN FRONT OF BOTH. Shit, how the fuck do you miss that play THAT badly? No, really... How the fuck do you miss the player being THREE FUCKING FEET in front of the free throw line? The ACC should launch a gambling investigation into this game, because Eades HAD to have money riding on this game. There's no other explanation for botching it that bad. All of the other no-calls pale in comparison to that, including the 4-step travel and multitude of pushoffs (really, one time the announcers are praising Green saying "you've gotta make space like this" with a fucking slow-mo replay of a blatant push-off).

They only allowed the game to go to OT because they missed a blatant lane violation that wasn't even a close call

They also let a VT player take 4 steps without dribbling from beyond the three point line.

But its just "part of the game"

^^^^ If it was a judgment call (block-charge) or something like that I could. But the fact that it is a blatant rule violation is just awful.

Also, an official should be looking for stuff like that in that situation. It was just all around fail.

Just because we won we can't critique the refs? Are you allowed to critique a player's bad game, if his team won? Or a coach's bad decisions, if his team won?
