Anybody ever done Rusty Wallace experience? I drove a late model at Southern National(not RW) and the prep they gave me was ridiculously inadequate. Guy said: "Follow the chase car, you wont be able to catch him. Roll into the gas out of the turns" That was it! He was correct though i couldn't catch the guy in the chase car which was good i guess9/23/2014 6:06:12 AM |

2015 rules:
Quote : | "The biggest change is the testing policy. Now NASCAR teams will only be allowed to participate in NASCAR and Goodyear tests.
In other major moves for 2015, NASCAR will use rain tires on road courses for the Sprint Cup Series, as it has done for Nationwide and trucks for several years.
As far as the new aerodynamic rules (except for Daytona and Talladega), they include reduced horsepower from about 850 to 725. NASCAR will put a tapered spacer — much like a restrictor plate except thicker with the holes tapering — on the cars, much like is done on the Nationwide and trucks.
They will do that in combination of having lower rear differential gear ratios to keep the cars at 9,000 RPM (they have been at 9,300-9,400 RPM). The rear spoiler will be cut from 7.25 inches tall to six inches. The radiator pan will be reduced from 43 inches to 38 inches. And teams will have the option of using a driver adjustable track bar." |
all these are huge changes 9/23/2014 4:06:32 PM |

apparently when they used this package at Michigan, they were only 3 mph slower than the current gen6 cars at the end of the front stretch...which is hard to believe with them putting out 150 less horsepower, but what do I know?
Driver adjustable track bar is going to be huge. Outside of tire pressures, thats the one quick fix adjustment that crew chiefs always go to on pit stops. 9/23/2014 6:23:57 PM |

The Chase is a mockery of the sport.
Milka Duno being allowed to race is what happens when the back of the grid are dependent on ride buyers and there's little to no competition to qualify. 10/6/2014 12:18:44 PM |

Don't think it was on tv but BK was crashing into cars and equipment plus spinning rear tires in the garage area. Will be interesting to see what NASCAR thinks of that on Tuesday when penalties come out 10/12/2014 10:41:50 AM |

Kasey Kahne, Jimmie Johnson, Kyle Busch, Dale Earnhardt Jr. all eliminated today.
1. Logano 2. Harvick 3. Keselowski 4. Gordon 5. Kenseth 6. Newman 7. Hamlin 8. Edwards
Those are your 8 that will race at Martinsville, Texas and Phoenix. Then there will be four for Homestead. Really wanting Kenseth or Newman to win the championship with 0 wins. 10/19/2014 7:58:14 PM |

Chase Elliott practically wraps up the Nationwide Series championship with a 4th place finish yesterday. Couldn't keep it in the Top 10 in the first 50 laps. Was the fastest car on the track in the last 50 laps. All he has to do is finish ahead of Regan Smith next week and Homestead won't even matter. However with a 48 point lead with just two races to go...he would need to totally destroy his car in both of the final races and Regan would have to finish Top 5 in both final races for him to not win the championship. Doubt either of those happen. 11/2/2014 6:43:08 AM |

so Stewart averaged over 200 mph for the first time (and probably last) over a lap on any 1.5 mile track ever in the history of nascar yesterday. 11/2/2014 7:11:36 AM |

So, maybe I'm jaded here, but to me it looked like there was a hole there and brad went for it. Gordon tried to close it (not knowing brad was there because it was too quick for a spotter warning) by coming down on Jimmy and they made contact. Had Gordon's tire not gone flat I don't see anything being made of this other than it being a "racing move".
In the end I think it was just hard racing. Gordon calling Brad a dipshit for that move is rich at best. 11/2/2014 10:43:05 PM |

Gordon was running 2nd and newman was one spot out of transferring to next Sundays race. He dive bombed Kyle Larson in turn three coming to the finish and wrecked Larson to take the last spot and put Gordon out of the chase.

Gordon needs to hang it up in the offseason. After this season and 2007, which he dominated, it's clear that he's just not to meant to win a chase championship. Quit on top rather than fizzling for years like Martin and the Labontes. 11/9/2014 7:35:32 PM |
