Cam has his issues with the media, but I think Jourdan's reaction plays as much into this as Cam's comment. More than likely this would have been a slight issue that has now snowballed into a national debate. I feel for her because it the Panthers lose on Sunday she is going to find out why fan is short for fanatic. It may also be why she has gone Twitter silent since yesterday evening.

this is so fucking idiotic. first of all, she's barely reacted publicly, so she can't possibly be the one that overreacted and made this a bigger issue. she didn't originally share the video, other media members did. she didn't post all over twitter about it and push the story. other media members did. she had like one or two tweets in response to it and a statement...which was issued way after this event blew up.

^^so what purpose does digging up that tweet serve? she said/tweeted the n word. that's not cool. but that has absolutely nothing to do with cam's comment. nobody has once said she's a perfect person. and any mistake she has made in the past has no bearing on this current situation. y'all just trying to pile on her at this point. how fucking hard is it to just admit that cam's comments were wrong without piling on the reporter?

I think the guy who refused to apologize for a blatantly sexist remark is the one being "cunty". If he'd apologized in that off the record conversation they had, this story would have blown over in an hour.

The reporter did NOTHING wrong. She didn't make a scene during the press conference, she didn't make a big deal of it on social media. Asking if he even knew her name isn't "cunty", it just goes to prove what an asshole he is. She's been the observer's panthers reporter for over a year. She interacts with Newton on a near daily basis. I think Cam is in a very, very small minority of professional athletes who don't know the name of someone they work with routinely.
