Went on the kenpom page to check out ranking; its 67. However, while on there, I noticed you can look back on our previous end of season rankings all the way back to 2002.

they were:

Herb averaged 27th (it didnt have rankings for his 1st handful of years so its distorted)
Lowe 84th
Gott 59th
KK 67 (the the distortion of only having 1/2 a year and recruiting etc...)

Herb was better than I remembered and Lowe was worse

Big one tomorrow. Making the tournament is doable, but we have a very hard schedule coming up. We always play terrible against UNC and we still have to play them twice. The toughest teams in the ACC are all in Raleigh which is good, but the weaker teams are all on the road and it is never easy to win on the road. There could be a lot of losses in a row coming soon. 9-9 gets us in though.

^^I don't think it's "ignoring", I think it's giving them a free pass.

You give Bill B the Browns squad this season, they MAY win 2-3 games? Give Coach K Pitt's team right now, are they instantly tournament teams? Personnel matters a ton and, esp. in college, it takes more than a year to turn a program around(usually).

The program was in pretty bad shape after Gott left, much worse than when Lowe left. The scholarship spacing was bad because of transfers, we lost guys early going pro international, the players weren't held accountable under Gott, etc. In walks Keatts who is a structure guy and a hands-on coach, and of course he has to completely change the mindset and attitude that Gott instilled.

I think everyone knew this would be a transition year for Keatts, so to even have an outside shot at the tournament at this point is pretty amazing, let alone having 3 top 25 wins already.

Kenpom has us winning 3 more (@Pitt, BC, @GT) but with ND, @Wake, FSU, and Lou all having pretty decent chances (>=40%). Nothing is less than 30% except @UNC.

I think we can squeeze out 6 more wins and then hopefully one more in the ACCT. None of these would be bad losses except for Pitt and if we can pull a couple upsets (maybe even one against UNC) we'd be in pretty good shape.
