UL game makes me really nervous. They’re aggressive on defense could definitely create issues for Morris. Malik Cunningham got hurt last week didn’t he?

I truly have no idea what to expect from the UNC game. I don’t expect to win but I don’t think a W is off the table. I just don’t think our O is remotely good enough to keep up. But I said the same thing about Wake too. So I dunno.

Not putting much stock into anything on the depth chart. It doesn’t list Michael Allen and he’s been getting plenty of action recently.


As for any DD rumors…doubt he’s going to Wiscy. I think they hope(d) Leonhard would work and give him the full time gig. Don’t know exactly how that will play out though. And if DD is ready to start fresh somewhere after a decade here it would be hard to blame him. But I’m not putting much stock into those rumors yet either. I haven’t seen anything other than pure speculation.

In other words: I’m not buying any stock today!

^^ I’m not saying he’s gonna leave or that he should leave or that he’s even considering leaving. But I think several P5 programs would be fine with hiring a guy with a decade of P5 experience and has built State into a pretty regular top 25 team in the last few years. I also think there’s plenty of nuance to the “this is his best team” argument….the starting QB got hurt early in the year and that kinda negates the “best team ever!!” thing. Most teams will lose more games than they otherwise should when they’re starting back up QBs.

I know DD is flawed, i won’t lose sleep if he leaves. But he’s also our best coach since Sheridan. The program is definitively in a better place than when he arrived. We’re as consistent as we’ve ever been in my life. Plenty of room to improve. And plenty of criticism to apply to DD. But all that can still be true.

I also thing the speculation about him leaving seems mostly unfounded. I’ve seen Giglio liken it to Herb leaving (10 years at State, disappointing 10th year, etc). But that feels incredibly speculative and nothing more at this point.

Would be something if DD leaves us for Arizona State. I don't want him to leave because we don't have the financial resources to secure an upgrade at Head Coach, it took us 10 years to get him to $5 million a year and now you need at least $10 million a year to get a good coach.
