Lol, woke up to loud noise and sleet. From the looks of it there was literally nary a flake in South Durham.

This has to be the biggest forecast bust ever. NWS had this area with a 96% chance of at least 2" of snow.

Jeez this has to be the biggest bust at least that I can remember. I expected totals to be down yesterday but not down as in zero. What a huge troll job by pretty much everyone. This will put an end to any optimism I have on forecasts. Gonna treat snow like NC state assume everything is wrong and we are gonna get 0 and if we manage to luck into a few then be happy with it. Been burned too many times by both blah.

Fuck meteorologists in general man. Brad panovich down here tweeted numerous times killing on mets that put out call maps based on models and not past experience. And then whats the fuckhead do? Puts out his first call map that lines up perfectly with the GFS!!! Hahahaha. Not only that, but he ends up dead fucking wrong, again, because he didnt use past experience which continuously proves that we will always fight mixing in charlotte and south and that the rain/snow line is always north and west of what the models predict.

And then they get all pissy when people call them out on their hypocrisy. Fuck em

update: snow coming down near the airport, got a couple inches now. Although the ice is still under the snow, so that should be fun sliding around on later.

Im in SE raleigh, my room mate is a lineman.... he had trouble getting out of the neighborhood (our neighborhood is weirdly challenging in the snow because of the hills and the tree shade protecting ice from melting)


anyway tryon rd hasn't been cleared and he said he was thinking about turning around. But there are people driving. The cleared roads are fine though

I remember years ago on 610AM sports radio Packman had retired weatherman Ray Boylan on the air after everyone said Charlotte was in direct path of a hurricane/TS/TD. It may have been Floyd... Charlotte barely got a few drops of rain.

Packman was razzing Boylan about meteorologists batting average; in which Boylan quickly snapped back. You could tell it was tense.

I hate Packman, so it was good to hear someone bust his chops... but he was right.
