Have you ever actually talked to a rape victim? What about someone who was JUST raped? What about someone who was raped FIFTEEN years ago? Well, I have, and I can tell you something right now -- it usually leaves a shitload of problems in its wake. Some people act on them, some don't.

I know two people who have been raped, and both are over it completely, at least publicly

one was proably about 7 years ago, the other about 2.5

Granted, I'm not particularly close to either one, and one or both of them may still harbor some inner feelings of disgust that they'll never be able to completely shed

but they can talk about their experiences without breaking down and crying, and it definitely doesn't seem like something that still haunts them
