Roy has a great long-term reputation of players staying until they are ripe and leaving at the right time. . If Mcadoo doesn't work out, that will be the exception amongst the several players who have been dominant and still came back and imroved again.

Roy is elite so its not really a fair comparison but if you look around the country, most teams have their good players come back. Look at Oklahoma State. Maybe there are teams that have a guy leave every blue moon but what we have here is systematic. multiple guys leaving.

roy has a great reputation for taking the best players in the country, convincing them to stay in schol 2 years longer than their peers, and then still having them become mediocre players as pros

he's probably the second worst decision you can make as a recruit. the first, of course, is coming to nc state under any coach. we have 1 player in the NBA and the most in the DLeague. talk about a poor life decision

you have misunderstood. everyone has studs leave early. thats not what i'm talking about. studs are guys that are guaranteed to be drafted and likely to be lottery picks. Gott has guys who are above average players but not studs leave and not get drafted. I am trying hard to point out the difference but most people here still don't notice the difference between guys like brown and guys like rivers or guys like leslie and guys like blake griffin. Washington could enter the draft this year if nobody convinced him it was a bad idea.

Do you really think attrition is completely independent of chemistry? Of course Roy would have convinced them to stay. Its what he has always done with all of his players. Not only do his players not leave prematurely, but Roys players, usually stay 1 or 2 extra years to develop skills even further. Lawson under Gott would not be half of the NBA player he is now because the extra years he stayed in college improved his outside shooting dramatically. Now he is a dynamic long-term NBA player.

I'll give Earl points on this one. I can't name another set of teammates that ever pulled off this embarrassment. That said, CJL should have left after his soph year and we were lucky to get him for his junior year. No way he would have stayed regardless of who was coaching. As for Brown, dude was 22, no way he waiting another year and getting lumped in with this monster class of 2014.

Oh well who cares at this point. Gott is still our coach, our team is weak sauce this year, and all we can hope for is that next year the talent starts to gel and we become a top-25 team. Gott is guaranteed at least a few more years so we need to stop talking about firing him because it ain't happening soon.

I never thought we were a tourney team and the win at UT was unexpected but there is no world we should be losing to Central in. We are as bad as it comes in the ACC. Luckily ND threw away their season by actually suspending there best player for not going to class or we would be looking at a 0-6 start.
