Well, I personally feel we were the better side. We carried play for 80% of the game. Just had two major defensive breakdowns (a theme this World Cup)... but really we deserved to win. We outworked them for most of the game and generated far more chances. We simply don't have a world class finisher on the roster.

But life ain't fair.

Aside from the two breakdowns and the one set piece did Howard even have to do anything? We were peppering them in the second half and second period of extra time with chance after chance. 80% of the game was an overstatement but we I think we surely would have deserved the win should the result have gone that way.

first half possession was probably 30-70, we looked tired and terrible

second half we had a ton of chances, couldn't finish, bad bad touches, easy saves for kingson

extra time we had no legs, two good chances at the very end

to say we ran shit or deserved to win is silly

My point is that there were players from the 2008 U-23 roster playing on this team and they still like to blow it vs Africa. The older players from the 2006 World Cup squad blew it again too.
