so after a couple games, I find my next purchase should probably be a battery grip. And a foldy campy chair thing. I have a monopod, is there something I can buy that will attach the monopod to the camera while holding it portrait style? the other guys' monopods seemed to be attached to their lenses, but mine is fairly cheap i think, and doesn't have anything like that ATM.

Larger lenses will have a tripod ring that allows you to mount a monopod or tripod to the lens instead of camera body, making it more balanced and allowing you to rotate the camera. If you've got a cheap lens, I doubt it. With a 70-200, yes. They're really handy.

yeah, but I'm just gonna stick with doing nightlife pictures like I do with editorial pieces, the only things I'm gonna edit is color correction, exposure, and levels. When you go through so many pictures, you don't even want to open a picture up in photoshop to edit.
