damn impressive. the guy has been less than forthcoming with his exact setup, but swears up and down it's stock cubes and no power adder. nothing wrong with a person not wanting to give away all their secrets on a combination they've spent lots of money and time on. my personal opinion is the main technical factor is that the car is a lot lighter than he's letting on. that, and it's otherwise a nearly perfectly matched setup. read and decide for yourself if you like.

That dude is a dickface btw. He flat out refuses to answer questions or allow anyone to even look at his car. I think the thing that really gets me is that rather than just say "I'm not telling you what's done to it," he keeps ignoring questions or he'll answer a question that wasn't asked.

In one post someone said he should just let people take a look at it if what he said was true and he specifically stated that he just meant have a look under the hood, in the trunk and inside the car (He also specifically stated that he was NOT saying anything needed to be taken apart). So the dickface ignores the main point of that suggestion and simply responds by saying "I'm going to need $5000 before I'll do a teardown of the motor in front of everyone." They specifically stated that wasn't what they were asking for, but that's the game this dude plays.

Plus, from what I can tell, he even resorts to blatantly lying about his car's specs. That kind of shit is retarded, we're not on pinks.

honestly, i tended to have the same initial reaction as well, but after following the thread my opinion changed. few points:

- think about if you had spent thousands of dollars, countless hours of frustration/headache, etc. going after a record. would you just automatically give away your secrets on how it was done? i don't know that i would, at least not to a bunch of assholes scattered around the country on the internet. from what i understand, he's "spilled the beans" to people he knows personally and to a few people on ls1tech that have made the effort to contact him directly. all of those people vouch for the run being legit.

- as he keeps repeating, if you carefully go back through the thread and his posts in other threads, put all the info together, and read between the lines a bit he's give you pretty much all the info you need to believe him.

- he's given out all of the pertinent data and specs. i don't see anywhere he's actually lied, just areas where he's declined to comment or skirted the issue. you've got to keep in mind while he might own the car, he's representing someone else's work. if that shop/person doesn't want things like exact race weight, cam specs, datalogs, or whatever released to the general public, it's common courtesy for this guy to respect that.
