I had a pretty good feeling that they'd resign Jesse. I'm sure that all three Petes (Karmanos, Laviolette, and Friesen) have had talks with him and he'll be in shape and ready to pull his wide dekes again like in '03-04.

i never thought Boulerice was considered a solid player

i really thought they were going to let him go........ he hasn't done a whole lot since he has been with the canes

They already let him go. They traded him for Doug Weight. Then he nailed the shit out of his teammate in practice, trashed the locker room, and the Blues released him. He's been hanging around Raleigh and doing workouts since then.

Jesse Boulerice is the only Carolina Hurricane I've ever seen do the Selanne move successfully during a game.

Did you see the Blues play last year?

I think that warrants tantrum enough.

We need him for the 1st game against Pittsburgh so Cole and he can kill Olprick(sp?)...the neck breaker.

More like we need someone to take the instigator penalty during that game (fucking dumb rule, btw). I wouldn't be the least bit surprised if Orpik tries to dodge the fight like Jason Doig did after he hit Kevyn Adams knee-to-knee.

i'm glad we got jesse back... seems like every other game after we traded him that someone cheap-shotted kevyn adams, we need the bull to come whoop some ass. just spent about 20 mins on youtube looking at his fight videos

You know, I honestly wouldn't mind Colesy taking a 2-5-10 for pounding Orpik. I can deal with that.

Forslund is going national. He will do games for Versus (OLN) when he can fit it in with his FSN schedule: http://www.newsobserver.com/796/story/467390.html

Forslund is ACE. He was awesome during the '03-04 playoffs on ESPN.

No, Ladd took Bayda's number.

Bayda used to wear #16, and before that when he was still on his org. number he was #47. I had a Sami Kapanen sticker that I modified to be #47 when Sami got traded...I had to throw it out once we signed Grahame.

Another reason why it sucks to be a Penguins fan. Malkin has signed a one year deal with his Russian club, even after saying he was "95 to 100%" certain that he would be in a Pittsburgh uniform this season.

^^ Well, he's always wanted to; there's never been any question about that. The problem is Russia rejected the transfer agreement, and although there is a loophole that would allow him to get out, I don't think he wants to be seen in his country as a deserter.

"Meehan said last week that the 20-year-old Malkin could circumvent his Russian contract and leave to play for the Penguins by simply resigning his job and giving the team a two-week notice that he was leaving. Russian law apparently permits such resignations, even if a contract is in place."

Season ticket sales (mini and full plans) up 60% from last year. Guess that's what winning the Cup will do for you.
