i dont think anybody was mad when Larry Bird's white ass got 3 MVP awards in a row

course he was winning titles, something Nash has yet to do

^That was a very different age in the NBA.. It's image has changed dramatically since then

True about Nash though, but I think it could happen this year

i think it could happen too but in all sports, championships are what gets remembered the most

i mean you have exceptions like Dan Marino but you gotta win the big one

which wont happen this year since Chauncy Billups is the REAL mvp

Haha I agree, cause I love the Piston's game and how they play team ball with gritty defense. It has proved them to be very successful.

On the other hand, I love watching Nash and the Sun's..cause who doesn't like to see 115 points scored a game?

Kobe Bryant is so much better than Steve Nash.

Ok how about this. Just say Nash was American and could play for team USA. With team USA doing so poorly lately, what one player do you wish would play for us? KOBE. Its a no brainer. Steve Nash - so what. What is he going to do. Kobe - oh my gosh say goodbye to third place and say hello to gold once again.

and dont you even say something stupid like Kobe doesnt pass so we dont want him on Team USA. thats not the point. The point is that everyone knows that if Kobe played for Team USA that we would dominate the world in basketball.

if Nash was American I would want both Nash and Kobe on Team USA

and I think Kobe should be MVP...because MVP has always meant MOP...there was just no reason to call it that until some pissy liberals thought people who didnt get an award called "valuable" it would hurt their self esteem...but Nash isnt exactly some shitty player...he's gotta be in the running for the award

I'd rather have Nash on Team USA considering there are already 15 or so All-Stars on the team that Nash could give open shots and dunks to. I know a lot of other people agree with me. Just like more pepole agreed Nash is more valuable than Kobe is...a.k.a 2 MVP's in a row

Or maybe Kobe isn't winning it cause he's a rapist

I would rather have Nash, he's a better long range shooter. There are already other athletic wings that can finish at the rack on the team.

If it 2-on-2 with Kobe it would be 1-on-2 when his team has the ball.

Do you want to tell us why Kobe will not play with those guys? At least those guys are over there trying. Kobe has a different excuse each time the Olympics come around.

if you didnt just see the 1st quarter, heres what happened

phoenix finished ahead 31-17...phoenix actually increased their lead with barbosa on the floor compared to when nash was on the floor...kobe had 9 of their 17...sounds pretty valuable to me

in the 1st quarter of tonight's game specifically, kobe was more valuable to his team than nash...if you are watching you'd clearly see this

but all the kobe haters want to say "if the suns didnt have nash, they'd be a 6 seed...if the lakers had another star wing player theyd be the same or better" and thats just bullshit

That was a beautiful pass.

I don't care what people say, Kobe is as good of a passer as nearly anyone.

^ And if you watched the first quarter, you would have seen 5-6 beautiful passes from Kobe that should have been assists if the Lakers could finish like the Suns.

i thought someone said earlier in this thread that the playoffs dont matter for mvp award, why is anyone basing kobe winning the mvp from this game...

It's simply a direct comparison of two of the main players that were competing for the MVP.

alright, well i agree he is good, but there are a lot of good players in the nba...they should just use a lottery and select the best player out of a hat and give it to whoever is selected, that way they can have all the names of deserving players in the mix, but let chance decide who is the best...since no one appears to agree who is the best in the league

Does Farmar suck at threes?

I have seen him be wide open with the ball out there several times, and just stand around looking to pass it.

^^he was decent with his outside shots at UCLA...he's knocked some down in the NBA also

^^^people have made the argument that you could give the mvp every year to somebody like garnett or duncan, or in the 90s you couldve given it to jordan every year, etc...thats a completely valid point...but i think kobe is currently the best player in the league and should be MVP this year

^yeah 33% this year...can hit them but not great

lol farmar just missed a 3
