about the koozies straight from Bobby Mills.
Quote : | "John,
Thanks for your insight. The koozie idea has been mentioned several times but since we already had thousands of stickers left over from the WITH campaign in the past we were going to go ahead and use all the stickers we have before buying new merchandise. However, we have agreed to purchase koozies and t-shirts when we make the next marketing purchase order so we will be more financially responsible. See you soon brother.

Other sleepers in BCS conferences:
ACC: N.C. State. I know, I must be crazy. Walk with me on this one. Former coach Chuck Amato wasn't the best leader or teacher, but he recruited his tail off. New coach Tom O'Brien means business; dude does not fool around.
Trust me, I saw the look in man-child defensive tackle DeMario Pressley's eyes when he admitted he was "afraid of coach O'Brien." And I saw star wideout Darrell Blackman's uneasy response: "He's not the only guy who's afraid of him."
The Wolfpack returns good speed and personnel on both sides of the ball, and if Daniel Evans or Nebraska transfer Harrison Beck produces at quarterback, this team will be more than just bowl eligible in the deep Atlantic Division " |

Quote : | "Cash tries to help out Pack
By Andrew Jones Star-News Correspondent
Raleigh | Cooking isn't exactly one of Allen-Michael Cash's attributes.
He cat eat, and will gladly chow any chance he gets. But cooking? He leaves that up to fellow N.C. State teammate and roommate DeMario Pressley and his girlfriend.
"She does a lot of the cooking," Cash said. "He can cook some great burgers, though."
A sophomore from Richmond, Va., Cash is priming to do some roasting of another kind this fall: On the football field.
Projected the Wolfpack's starting left defensive tackle, the 6-foot-1, 290-pound Cash has lofty personal goals for a player who was in on just 13 total tackles a year ago.
"I'd say 15 tackles for loss and five sacks," he said.
But first, however, he must win the starting job, and that's not a guarantee. The Wolfpack has enough talent that moving players around might happen any time leading up to the season-opener against Central Florida on Sept. 1.
And for Cash to solidify his spot on the depth chart, he must consistently explode off the ball while remaining low, making it more difficult for offensive linemen to stand him up.
"My hands are very good, but I have to work on staying low, though," Cash said.
Cash was asked by the coaching staff to work on that in the off-season, but that's not easy considering there's no pads or contact in the summer. The only way to improve was through constant workouts.
"We do agility drills with the cones to work on your foot work," Cash said. "In the weight room we do push-press to build your arms up get that explosiveness."
Coach Tom O'Brien is impressed with Cash's development and especially his eagerness.
"He's like the Tasmanian Devil in there," O'Brien said. "He stays after them, which is good. He never quits, he never gives up. Those are good points for him right now.
"He's learning a lot of new techniques and he's just got to put it together."
Evans Sports A Wrap
Daniel Evans, who started the final nine games of last season at quarterback, wore a wrap on his right shoulder during Monday's practice.
"I don't know," O'Brien replied when asked about the wrap. "I know he's got it on but I don't know why he's wearing it - I do but I'm not going answer your question."
O'Brien diffused a suggestion he's wearing it to relieve a sore arm.
Hot, Hot, Hot…
With the mercury settled in the high 90s, O'Brien is getting a chance to learn a thing or two about the makeup of his team. And so far he's quite pleased.
"They've done a great job in the heat," he said. "We've only had one guy a day that has to go out not make it to the end of practice because of the heat. And when you're talking 100 guys, that's a pretty good percentage of guys that are making (it through) practice."
O'Brien also noted he can tell which players hardest in offseason conditioning, but for the most part has no complaints.
Asked if practicing in such heat is an advantage his Boston College teams didn't have, the coach smiled and replied, "We're going to find out."" |

Stewart Mandel placed the 66 BCS football programs in a four tier hierarchy. First tier were the Kings, second tier Barons, third tier Knights, and fourth tier Peasants. We were placed in the "Knights" category, while UNC was relegated to "Peasant" status. I guess the way our program looks to people around the country isn't as bad as some make it out to be. While not a great tier, it's still respectable.
http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2007/writers/stewart_mandel/08/08/cfb.bag/index.html
Quote : | "Kings
Alabama, Florida, Florida State, Miami, Michigan, Nebraska, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Oklahoma, Penn State, Tennessee*, Texas and USC.
* Tennessee is the lone school in the group that caused any hesitation. The Vols would have been a no-brainer 10 years ago, but they have fallen off the map a bit lately. In the end, I figured those 100 fans in Montana still know "Rocky Top," the checkered end zones and that Peyton Manning went there.
Barons
Auburn, Clemson, Colorado, Georgia, LSU*, Texas A&M, UCLA, Virginia Tech, Washington and Wisconsin.
* While LSU is clearly a premier program right now, its big-picture tradition does not match those of the 13 kings. However, if the Tigers were to add another national title here in the next couple of years, they may well graduate to that group.
Knights
Arizona State, Arkansas, Boston College, Cal, Georgia Tech, Illinois, Iowa, Kansas State, Maryland, Michigan State, Missouri, N.C. State, Oklahoma State, Ole Miss, Oregon, Oregon State, Pittsburgh, Purdue, Stanford, Syracuse*, South Carolina, Texas Tech, Virginia, West Virginia and Washington State.
* In normal times, Syracuse would qualify as one of the barons, but they're just so darn bad and so irrelevant right now.
Peasants
Arizona, Baylor, Cincinnati, Connecticut, Duke, Minnesota, Indiana, Iowa State, Kansas, Kentucky, Mississippi State, North Carolina, Northwestern, Rutgers*, South Florida*, Wake Forest and Vanderbilt.
* Rutgers is another program that could be on its way up a tier, and South Florida is here by default because it's essentially a start-up.
There is one school intentionally missing from the list, and that's because I have no idea where to put it: Louisville. History-wise, the Cardinals are peasants, but the program has completely reinvented itself over the past decade and now gets mentioned with the kings and barons. For now, we'll just say: TBD." |

You'd think they'd ease up on trashing Duke's football program, In 02, they had a game winning FG as time expired in which their kicker attacked a blow up Duke helmet, in 03, Duke laid the absolute smack down on them, in 04 it was close until the last few minutes, 05 was a close game where UNC won by 3, and 06 was a one point game with UNC winning because they blocked an easy FG.....I'd say the one team that Duke has looked like a DI team against would have to be UNC yet they trash them every opportunity they get8/10/2007 8:56:54 AM |
