THE STADIUM WAS ELECTRIC, (BOOGEY BOOGEY BOOGEY BOOGEY) YOU COULD HAVE FELT IT! the alumns were even on their feet for the most part in the 2nd half.
this team delivered, i'm so glad i decided to go to the game. 10/27/2007 8:55:36 PM |

north endzone student section was only like 2/3 full, and there were some empty seats scattered around but i'd say there were ~56/7k there maybe

upper level Student secion SEZ was about a quarter full, but everything in section 6/7 to the UVA section on SEZ was packed and energetic.
damn that was a great game. 10/27/2007 9:30:13 PM |

yeah, lots of UVA people there, visitor section seemed larger than normal. The Red zone seats couldn't have been more than half full at the most, you could see the red seat backs everywhere. NEZ started filling up after kickoff and ended up maybe 3/4 full, not sure about 14/15. That place was definitely rocking and seemed like you could feel the stadium shake at the end. Seemed a lot louder than the BC or FSU games, granted a lot of people left before the end of those.
ha and we were leaving and joking with a UVA guy who said that the guy guarding bowens probably went straight to the locker room to put his ass on ice because it got burned all night. 10/27/2007 9:38:43 PM |

I had to attend my cousins wedding this afternoon and DVRed the game. I come back not knowing anything about what went on in the game and play the game. Well my damn DVR cut out with 4 minutes left to go, and I had set it to record 30 minutes past the time the game was supposed to end. I run to the computer and find out that the Pack was able to hold onto the 29-24 lead, and was happy but mad that I didn't get to see the stadium go nuts in the final minutes. Tell me the students didn't rush the field though for a way overrated UVA team. 10/27/2007 10:49:08 PM |

But it's a good thing you went with that view because it was clear as day on TV that the student turnout was piss poor... and students still have the balls to bitch about alumni at games.

The students who bitch and moan are probably the bandwagon ones who never go to a game and then get mad that they don't get tickets to the ones they want. And it seems that the entire student allotment is getting assigned, but either they're overfilling sect 7/8 or a lot of them are getting tickets and not coming to the game. 10/27/2007 10:59:58 PM |

ha, considering the number of drunks in the student section, you're just asking for a disaster if you allow it. But it would be nice to have the opportunity to rush after a big win(definitely not against a UVA team who has been living dangerously in recent weeks.)
It's not an ACC thing though, clemson rushes pretty much after every game. The SEC has a rule against rushing though and Kentucky has been fined $75k after the two rushes against Louisville and LSU.

You just described about 20 people sitting around me. I know there were a couple sororities a few rows down. After the winners of that award thing (that I still don't understand or care about 4 years later) were announced at halftime they left and didn't come back. Clearly they should have won it since they have such great school spirit.

it's not the online system . . . it's the way they implement GA. It just concentrates all the empty seats in one area instead of having them randomly throughout the somewhat filled in areas.
Plus the whole sucking thing encourages a lot of people to get tickets (possibly even with the intention of going into the game) and then tailgating and being drunk and they decide to just party. There are plenty of regular ticket holders that do this same thing.10/27/2007 11:13:20 PM |

I sit in 7/8 every game and we're packed in there like a can of sardines. It may be because everyone tries to squeeze in down low though but looking back I couldn't really see and empty parts. The SEZ seemed to have a pretty good crowd and there was quite a few holes in the NEZ. Couldn't see 14/15 but for some reason that section always fails to get full even when the entire student allotment is used. 10/27/2007 11:27:10 PM |

Sgt. Jon Barnwell said the horse ran into a light pole, throwing the officer.

Yeah I know how empty it was and how empty is has been for pretty much every game. Not all of it can be attributed to all of the empty seats being put in one area. However, it looks a lot worse. If you took the same number of people and spread them out so that every 5 seat was empty and that person instead sat in the upper deck, it would hardly be noticeable since everyone else would just spread out a little more. In the past, there were still a lot of empty seats that gradually got filled in. It just wasn't as evident because there were already people there.10/28/2007 12:04:57 AM |

haha, and the truth shall set you free. And if the thread gets deleted here's the story
Quote : | "I've done maybe one pass out at half time in the last 10 years. But tonight the wife wanted to make a quick dash back to the car to grab a sweater, so we took off right before the end of the half for the Trinity lot.
As we get to the car, we see a bunch of State Highway Patrol standing around (some on Horseback) and cheering. We look up and two horses with riders are racing each other down the main aisle in Trinity lot. We found out later that one had bet the other he could beat him in a race without holding on with his hands. Anyway, they are racing down and all of a sudden one of them gets clotheslined on a cable coming down from a wooden pole (street lamp maybe?) and the rider comes off hard.
The horse is now wildly running through the lot, nearly running over a small kid before the other cops on horseback intercept. The cop that got clotheslined is able to walk, but has hurt his arm pretty bad. I didn't get too close, but could see blood even from where I was. A White Unmarked SUV picks him up in short order, apparently after being radioed to come get him. The small kid was visibly upset by it all.
Absolutely brilliant. It is the type of behavior you'd expect from drunk college kids in the lots, not from the public servants that are supposed to be protecting people. I'm sure it will get swept under the rug. Anyone else on the boards happen to see this?" |

You are just now noticing that? Those seats are almost always half full. I don't know if they aren't getting sold or what.
Daniel Evans is playing some damn solid ball now. Hopefully he can sustain this. These last two games have been the best passing games since PR was here. 335 and 347 yards and 3 TDs in both with only 1 INT each and the ECU game INT wasn't his fault.
How about the offsides call that won us the game. GG officials. I love how they are hated on most of the time and blamed for a loss but this time they helped us win because that rarely gets called.10/28/2007 12:43:35 AM |

Evans isn't doing shit and stats are dangerous in the hands of idiots. I will give him credit for recognizing single coverage, but must of those throws he made were jump balls where the receiver just made an incredible play. Bowens and Stones really did a good job of making tough catches.
This was just the game where he wasn't penalized for lofting balls or throwing off his back foot; things went our way and we got lucky. His quarterbacking ability hasn't changed -- only the opponent changed. The next opponent, like most of the others, will be smart enough to know that evans will throw picks if given a chance.

i hate to admit it but he's right, and i felt the same way.
i noticed that one of Evans' problems was that he would look at only one reciever, making it easy for the defense to pick up on who he was going to throw to. that and when he's scrambling he only looks at teh reciever DIRECTLY in front of him.10/28/2007 1:07:32 AM |
