oh i agree. we have way underachieved so far. we should have blown out UNO and ECU, played a little better in the OSC, and at least only lost by 10 to MSU. it's just so weird how we can go from being red hot at the end of last year to looking like DEE-Dee-dees in a lot of the games this year.

I think we can win out if the team plays the way they know they can. However, they "know" they can play better than anyone in the country (which isn't true) and that cockiness is, so far, the downfall.

if we played like crap, but played like we have a crap- in other words, we suck balls but actually play with a hint of passion- then that would be far better than playing like crap AND not even giving a crap. did you even watch the game? have you watched any of our games?

^ I agree that Costner isn't playing up to his potential but at the same time can't the same be said for McCauley and Fells? Grant and JJ seem to be the only people out there that really give a damn about winning or losing at the moment and I believe that a statement needs to be sent even if it means losing another game by benching the starters the whole game. Seems like the problems that we are having could very well be the fact that there is no penalty for playing bad and that falls on the coaches for favoritism. I had hopes of making the NCAA at a high seed but things aren't looking that way and we might have to once again settle for a double digit seed.

are you even a student here? you need to go to the gym more often if you are. i frequently saw Evtimov, Cliff Crawford, Levi Watkins, Fordan Collins etc. out playing pickup in the gym, usually offseason. never saw hodge or powell. they definitely don't play as hard as the rest of us for the reasons you said, but they still owned. I covered crawford for one game and i had to quit after that.

We did get jobbed by the refs at the end but thats not an excuse anymore. It shouldnt have come down to that. When we had a 9 point lead we should have played harder and made it 20, but instead we played like we had it in the bag and sucked ass the rest of the game.

Ok, I just looked at our player stats for the season and all of our returners have seen a large decrease in ppg, fg%, 3pt% and rebounds. Costner and Ben have had it the worse seen a ~20% decrease in fg%.

This is more than just early season struggling. Something pretty serious is going on with the team and its only happening to the returners...hmm.

Degand is shooting near 50% and in the mid 40s from 3.

Hickson is shooting 75% with 8 boards and over 2 blocks.

It goes beyond that. Defensively, Degand and Hickson seem to be the only ones contesting shots.

i'm trying to say that there is no legitimate reason that we put ourselves in that situation to go there and play that game. if we're gonna play an away game like that make it vs someone who doesnt think of us as a rival, someone who is quasi-decent so if you lose it's not the end of the world, somewhere that has the capacity to draw over a 10,000 crowd, and something that will be played on tv other than CSTV. there is absolutely no benefit to playing there. if we win it's "good you should have walked in and be handed the victory" and if we lose it's complete meltdown like there is now. it's just bad scheduling to make that game
