why? TWW is not affiliated with PackPride. Unless he uses the same sn over there, I'm sure they won't find out. People post ESPN Insiders stuff on here all the time, and nobody has a problem with that.3/26/2008 2:22:55 PM |

lol, i use pretty close to the same username over there actually.
but it's not like it's their original premium content, just something that was mentioned on the premium boards. and it's not like i copied and pasted a paragraph. i know there have been issues in the past w/ posting premium articles.
just trying to keep you people informed is all.

nope. our two commits, C.J. Williams and Julius Mays, aren't McD's AAs. now next year if we land Wall, Brown, Favors then we'd have some representation. haha, Brandon Jennings (#1 PG and Arizona commit) is bringing back the flat top. awesome. 3/26/2008 8:52:49 PM |

Jennings looks like a complete tool. WTF was that skipping he was doing early in the game? I quit watching...is he still doing that shit?
(for the record, the flat top is great, but I could do without the skip step)

Brown will probably be the first that we hear of committing somewhere. I think Wall and Favors, like most big time recruits, are in no rush to commit anywhere and enjoy the entire recruiting process. They probably won't commit until the fall. 3/26/2008 10:31:33 PM |

Still looking good for Brown. He cancelled the trip, but I'm thinking now it was more of bad timing than it was 'I'm going to State'. I'd still expect him to visit Memphis and possibly Miami (My opinion)
Still looking great for Wall, but so are any number of other teams. We are in his top 3 easily and most think we lead, but don't expect a commitment for a loooong time so anything can happen.
Favors is still semi-unlikely and up in the air. If he leaves the state of Georgia, he's ours at this point. Problem is him leaving Georgia
In the end I think we end up getting Brown and Wall. Doubt we'll get Favors. Complete guess and anything can change. We may miss all of them...who knows3/27/2008 7:49:49 AM |

At this point I would take any of them or any combonation of them. If I had to rank them in order of need or impact I would rank them 1) Wall 2) Brown 3) Favors. Wall is obvious because our lack of guard play, particularly at the point. I know Brown is no where near the blue chip that Favors is but we've seen what a big man can do without competent guards on the perimeter. However, Favors certainly appears to be more promising than Hickson ever could be. The guy is an absolute beast and will probably give the school that lands him a top 10 class. Since we're basically dreaming anyway, what do you think a class of Wall, Brown, Favors, and Wood would rank? 3/27/2008 8:49:02 AM |

^^ The big thing with Favors is that he's 1 and done. It's not even a question.
You don't build a program with 1 year players.... you have to have a solid foundation first, which we don't.
^ Definetely. Brown, Wall, and Favors are all top 15-20 players. Wood is top 100.

favors by himself wouldn't necessarily help us build a program. favors with wall AND brown, on the other hand, could literally win a title that year. at the very least they could be in strong contention for it, maybe a final four appearance. then favors could go be a lottery pick and it would definitely help our program building.
i know we're nc state so we could probably still find a way to screw that up, but i really don't see how with a class like that. 3/27/2008 9:09:46 AM |

I don't think Wall, Brown, or Wood would be 1-and-done players, but Favors definitely would be.
Realistically, I don't have a good feeling about any of those 3 players coming to State. I think Wall will go out of state, Brown likely to a school like Memphis, and Favors will stay in Georgia. I'd just be happy with any of those 3 guys. I think the key would be getting one of them to sign early and use them as a recruiting tool, especially if we got Favors or Wall first. 3/27/2008 9:43:54 AM |

i think we'll get brown and we have a shot at wall, then we'll need to get another good big in that class. 3/27/2008 9:51:05 AM |

It's dreaming, but Brown and Wall would instantly give us an ACC-caliber backcourt.
Anyone know what the deal with Brown is? Where he's looking besides us? Hell, I don't even know what type of player he is (shooter? slasher?) but I know we need him. 3/27/2008 1:18:24 PM |

Quote : | "The list of colleges that are interested in him includes practically all the Division I schools, but right now he is most interested in Florida State, Kansas, Texas, Oklahoma State and, of course, N.C. State.
Wall loves his hometown school, but he is concerned about some of the things he has heard, specifically that Wolfpack coach Sidney Lowe's job security may be tied to signing him.
"It is almost like some people are trying to force me to go there," Wall said. "Can you imagine? A coach like Coach Lowe having his job depend on signing some kid.
"I don't want him to lose his job, but don't put that pressure on me."
Lowe already has a commitment from Wall's sophomore Word of God teammate, C.J. Leslie.
Leslie, who said his commitment to State is "pretty solid," was exceptional in the showcase, passing, rebounding and scoring.

Good job making the kids feel comfortable Lowe and staff. It's got nothing to do with your terrible coaching and everything to do with recruiting, I am sure that is why you are on the hot seat.
I am going to go out on a limb and say that it doesn't matter if you fly back in time and take Michael Jordan out of high school and bring him back to play for NCSU next year it won't make a fucking difference if you have no idea what to do with him.3/30/2008 3:02:39 PM |

I don't think that is internal pressure... but I think it's more pressure from Wolfpack FANS... I highly doubt Sidney or his staff is dumb enough to tell a kid that in his recruitment
That said, that quote doesn't exactly give me confidence that we'll land Wall... I've always seen him at UK or Memphis, but the list doesn't mention them interestingly enough. Texas, huh? They've been really good at developing PGs recently.

^If that's the case, it seems like it would help our chances with Wall. Seeing as how it annoys him to have Lowe's coaching future dangled over his head like some ultimatum, that kind of negative recruiting should turn him away from the schools that use that tactic. Wishful thinking? 3/30/2008 8:22:19 PM |
wolfAApack All American 9980 Posts user info edit post |
That was a loaded question. Sure, he feels pressure to go to State, but people are puting shit in his ear that isn't true. Lowe's future doesn't depend on any one fucking kid. It would sure as shit help him out if he could land Wall, but to act like one guy is going to make or break a coach, give me a break. It sounds like Wall has more confidence in Lowe than the people that are puting that shit in his ear.
Point is...that was a terrible question from a well known hole fan. 3/30/2008 10:55:16 PM |
