the whole week long layoff thing really got me out of the NBA mood.

I was enjoying the playoffs more than I have in 10 years and then the layoff killed it for me. I'm not all that excited for the game tonight.

I will probably watch the game, though I am not too happy about who is in the finals. I am not a Kobe fan, and feel KG is a bit overrated, although his performance this year and the last playoff series has me turning around.

I do want Phil Jackson to get another ring, just not with Kobe. Yeah, i will be watching, just not cheering.

How can you think KG was overrated but then say this year has changed your mind when its not even close to his best year?

I respect the hell out of, but dislike Kobe. Also not too fond of the rest of the Lakers. At the most, I'm at indifferent towards Odom and Gasol. And why the fuck does Jackson need another ring???

I would really like to see KG get a ring. That guy went through some tough years in Minnesota. I also like Pierce and Allen a good bit.

to prove how great of a coach he is...12 playoff appearances, 9 titles...sure he might have 0 titles if he never had jordan and pippen and shaq and kobe...but shaq is the only one of them to win a title without Phil Jackson...and he did it with Dwayne Wade and Pat Riley, another great coach

I really don't think Jackson's coaching legacy will be that much greater if they win this year. All I've heard is how much Gasol is making them better or how Kobe has transformed his game into making the team better. It'll make him look a little better...but I'm definitely more about KG getting a ring then Jackson getting his fiftieth.

And I like "He Got Game" better than the Bobcats...so I still like Ray Allen.

Yeah...I agree with the old players trying to get a title...but I look at KG in a different light.

I think Payton and Malone had their chances. Payton had his years with Kemp when they were really good, reached the Finals once. Malone definitely had his chances with the Jazz. I loved it when they lost with the Lakers.

But KG has never had more than an adequate supporting cast with Minnesota...and he never complained and played his heart and soul out there (with the exception of complaining his last year...but they were shopping him). I think he deserves this. And I don't really understand the Celtics hate...they've been HORRIBLE for around 20 years and have had some bad luck after the Bird/McHale days. Len Bias, Reggie Lewis...the draft bad luck. I fucking abhor the Patriots, but I'm not going to take it out on the Celtics.

And refresh my memory with Allen and the Hornets. I think I missed that one.

There's gonna be a lot of people taking it out on the Celtics. Not so much the Celtics as it is the city of Boston. I mean really, they have the Sox and the Patriots. It sucks to be the Celtics, but people hate the city. It'd be like the Yankees, Knicks, Rangers and Jets winning multiple times in five years. I hate New York fans as it is...hatred would only get worse.

Eastern semis...i think 2001 maybe...Baron Davis, David Wesley, Jamal Mashburn, PJ Brown, Elden Campbell days...Hornets vs. Bucks...Bucks win the first 2 games in Milwaukee...Hornets come back to tie it by winning games 3 and 4 in Charlotte, and then go on the road for Game 5 and beat the Bucks in Milwaukee...had a chance to close it out in Charlotte in Game 6 and reach the Eastern Finals (versus either NJ or Philly, cant remember) and Shuttlesworth hit a 3 with about 2 seconds left to put them ahead and they won the game and then closed it out in Milwaukee...shortly after the news of the Hornets leaving town came around...bad times

Sam Cassell was on that Bucks team as well

and my Celtics hate is just hate for all Boston sports teams...I don't really care about the Bruins, but screw the Pats and Red Sox and Celtics
