The thing that's really bothering me is how fickle the characters have become. The most recent example is Ali Larter's [latest] character. One day she's: "Oh my gosh I killed someone and I feel so guilty and I want someone to take away my powers more than anything." Then within the course of a few hours, she's all the sudden remorseless power hungry bitch who's "come to terms" with her powers. It makes it hard to identify with or put any stock in any one character b/c they could change completely at any time.

^ I guess I enjoy that "guessing" aspect of it. Human frailty, I think we all know and have people in our lives that can change their feelings, thoughts, and beliefs over night!

But I do understand your complaint.

^^ i dont think its much of a change. at first she was freaked and didnt want it. once she came to grips with it, she went back to being a manipulative political bitch.

The writing (acting?) on this show is so horrid... so many cringe worthy moments, especially in this past episode.

basically the show ended with HRG pointing a sniper rifle at Sylar & Elle as they were making out. also, dont know if this was after claire started bleeding, but parkman sees daphne as "her former life" which was basically a cripple with leg braces and crutches.

^She won't be dead for long. I'm sure that if she dies, Arthur will give her some of his magic blood or Peter will get his powers back and give her some blood. Nobody stays dead in this show.

the graphic showing the moon/sun before the eclipse was completely inaccurate. you would not see half of the moon being lit by the sun like they showed.
the moon is ALWAYS a 'new moon' (none of the light side pointed towards the earth) during a solar eclipse.
(the moon is always full during a lunar eclipse.)

yeah, that's the unrealistic part of the show

Still no inkling of an explanation as to why a solar eclipse would have an effect on genetic mutations that give powers? Seriously, they need to stop just pulling things out of their asses and expecting us to just roll with it.

In fairness, it is a two-part episode. And obviously a driving force behind the rest of the season. They'll have to explain it sooner or later, and I'll wager sooner, because I doubt the season finale is going to involve a bunch of people without powers slapping each other across the face.

one of the blondes IS leaving the show...they haven't said who of course. claire being set up for death certainly does lean to it possibly being her. elle is also set up for it though with Bennett and his sniper.
and another "fan favorite" is leaving...my bets are on Hiro.

my money is on elle, but only because she is billed as a SPECIAL GUEST STAR, and isn't a cast member.

^Elle is the easy money for which blonde is leaving the show. She's a guest star, and I remember reading before the start of the season that she had only signed on for three more episodes. Which, of course, turned out not to be accurate -- she's been in more than three -- but it reinforces the idea that they planned for her to depart this season.

Plus, Bennett is pointing a fucking sniper rifle at her head, and something has to happen to make Sylar go balls-out evil again.

Quote :

If it's Hiro, the show will collapse. Hell, even if it's Ando, it will suffer greatly -- the Hiro/Ando relationship is at the very heart of the show, which is part of the reason why Hiro's character fell so flat when he was in the past.

I'm hoping that they're using the term "fan favorite" loosely, and the person leaving will be someone shitty. Ali Larter would be ideal. I could settle for Nathan or Peter. Also wouldn't be too heartbroken to see Claire leave, except insofar as it might reduce the role of Bennett.

Let's face facts here. The characters that have made this show worth watching are:

Noah Bennett
Sylar (when he's not acting like doctor phil)
Parkman
Hiro/Ando

You have the right characters, but wrong order.

I do hope they explain somehow why the eclipse is significant, but I'd like it to be a vague explanation, as any one probably won't make much sense.

we quit watching this show about 4-5 episodes ago because the direction the show was taking got pretty homo

the episodes are all sitting on our DVR, would it be worthwhile for us to watch the shows and catch up, or is the show a lost cause and you wish you had the hour of your life back every week after watching the show?

please advise

The last 4-5 episodes have been pretty ridiculous, and the dialogue has gone largely to shit. I'm getting to the point where I need some kind of explanation for some things that makes sense and gives me an "ohhhhhh... gotcha" kind of moment, or else I might be done. I still care about some of the characters and want to know what happens to them, but I'm realizing that most of my stockpile of Care was built up from the first season and a half.

I'm still watching the show, but it's starting to really lose me. It sucks, b/c the concept had such promise. I'll most likely continue to watch, but just due to a lack of options.

Wouldn't it be so much cooler if the "Heroes" did something... I dunno... heroic? Like fight crime or prevent disasters, etc.? Superman, Batman, Spiderman, those were heroes. This has turned into just a bunch of whiny bitches betraying and clusterfucking each other over and over. It's like a soap opera with super powers... and random time travel.

^ they've tried that the past two seasons, and I don't like it either

I think they should go to a episode by episode basis instead of some huge event that it takes all season to resolve...they keep losing the focus and have to quickly wrap everything up

This whole "everyone loses their power" could have been done as a 2-part, or at most a 3-part episode, and then continue on with other problems

I'd be fine with them all dying, and a fresh cast starting up next season. I've grown to despise almost every one of these people now
