Instead of punting with 14 seconds left, they snapped it to brees who ran backward for 25 yards then threw it out behind the endzone, for a safety with only 8 seconds left.10/26/2008 4:30:19 PM |

Charger offense put up over 450 yds of offense that game. No blame goes on them or Rivers. They did the best they could today. Now that charger "defense" on the other hand.........just pure shit all game long 10/26/2008 4:39:23 PM |

They have to fire Ted after this.
Fire him tomorrow, promote Ron Rivera, and let him install his system and let them practice it over the bye week. 10/26/2008 4:49:42 PM |

Ron Rivera is a good D-coordinator, but he doesn't have much experience with the 3-4.
It'll be interesting to see if they try a hybrid D like Baltimore runs. Either way, you'll see much better discipline out there, more blitzing and pressure man coverage. 10/28/2008 5:20:26 PM |

hopefully with the bye week we'll see an improvement?

rating doesn't count his eleventy billion fumbles
but he still is better than his team's record indicates.
[Edited on November 9, 2008 at 5:41 PM. Reason : huh, he only has one fumble this year. seems like more. was 5 last year.] 11/9/2008 5:38:04 PM |

I think he has 2-3 fumbles this year.
I mean, he had 2 vs Buffalo. But he's still been pretty much the only pro-bowl player on the Chargers this year. 11/9/2008 5:44:14 PM |
Motiak All American 1498 Posts user info edit post |
Philip blew the Buffalo game, he threw an INT at the end of the NO game but you can't really put that game on him considering how much he had to do just to keep them in the game. Chargers suck, Philip has had a good year with some down moments. 11/9/2008 5:46:45 PM |
Motiak All American 1498 Posts user info edit post |
Course Philip just epicly failed at throwing the ball away. Trying to throw the ball out of bounds he instead threw it directly at a LB. 11/9/2008 6:25:34 PM |

Well, there's really no good place to throw an interception (unless it's 3rd and long and you're intercepted on like a 60 yard bomb), I would probably rather throw an interception close to their end zone than close to my own. 11/9/2008 6:39:08 PM |
