on watching him. he makes slightly above average decisions, has average arm strength and slightly above average accuracy. average mobility and there's nothing really about him that isn't average. he has excellent WR who are usually open. he doesn't make flashy throws, he makes throws to open guys.

i'll go back to the argument that the greatest QB of all time could throw 5 tds a game (and this time I'll add in 500 yards and 100 on the ground, and 2 TDs on the ground) but if the defense lets them score 7 TDs and a FG every game, he won't win a single game.

i'll add in the argument that a very average QB could average ~150 yards a game, maybe a TD and sometimes an INT, but if the defense doesn't allow shit, he could win every game.

Troy Aikman, Tom Brady, John Elway, Terry Bradshaw are also examples of QBs better than Rivers because they have multiple titles
