See, I think this is why I dug Kris's version, because I kinda dig 808s and thing his version of the song isn't so bad (sans all the vocoding shit that he did on every song on that track).

I loved Kris's version of "Heartless" and it seemed very emotional which totally made it even better. Good for him.

i actually think this season is one of the best in the entire series, because the entire top 8 or so was actually really good in their own way.

unless blind guy was in the top 8, then i will exclude him.

^^Agreed. This season has never pulled me in like the other seasons have (hold the horrible Blake Lewis/Jordan Sparks year). I find myself not really caring who stays and who goes.

The best season, IMO, was season five with Taylor Hicks, Elliot Yamin, and Chris Daughtry (and Bucky and Kelli Pickler). That cast had 10x more appeal than this year. Chris was off-the-charts good. Taylor was entertaining as hell to watch. And Elliot was a guy you couldn't help but pull for. Still sad his mom died

This year, mehhhh ... just not the same.

i concur. this season has not been nearly as entertaining and the contestants have not been nearly as appealing as previous seasons. they're all just kinda meh. i can pick my favorite of what's there but i don't really like any of them. megan was interesting but fell off the boat.

i only heard mary j's version at the all-star game a few years back, if memory serves, i hated it

you know, upon the second performance, i'm not sure how adam got away with singing mad world like that w/out them calling him out on being complete copycat. he bascially sang it note for note like the cover version. did he sing it different last time?

and kara is just an idiot for saying it shows his artist side, this is one of the only songs he sang straight (yes homo?) all year long.

actually, adam changed a few notes here or there during the song, but all in all he sang the gary jules version note for note

I was surprised at the general reaction to Adam's version of "Change Is Comin'" Maybe it's just because I'm a Sam Cooke fan and love that song, but I thought he absolutely ruined that song. I didn't like anything about it, and it seemed very fake to me. It sounds trite, but I didn't "believe" him singing the song, it was a poor fit IMO.

Round 1: Adam did a good job (hard for me to say b/c i don't like him) but Kris was better.
Round 2: I thought Adam butchered the song, Kris sang well, but the song choice was lackluster.
Round 3: Laughable song, this was a matter of who sounded less like shit, my personal choice was Kris.

I know I'm probably in the minority, but I like Kris much better than Screamy McShrieksalot and would most likely enjoy Kris's album much more.
