11/16, and my sweet picks are still fresh.

I'm glad I stayed up tonight. Not a lot of excitement outside of this evening.

Goodnight, TWW!

Uhh it wasn't that hard. All one seeds made it.

I had 3/4 with Louisville in over UNC. I had Memphis beating Kansas. Chalmers cost me some cash.

15 out of 16 in the first day for me -- only miss I had was the Clemson game.... I don't know why I felt like I could pick them, especially when the game was being played in Michigan.

Uggg, horrible.

My Final Four is L'ville, Missouri, UNC and PITT, L'ville v. Pitt in the final, flipped a coin to win it all (L'ville)

I have Missouri taking out Memphis and Washington taking out a hurting UCONN team, then Mizzou beating Washington to get to the FF.

yes im angry at illinois too... i went 15/16 but lost illinois and them as a sweet 16. not good, and this happens to me a lot, i have a feeling i will lose more sweet 16's today b/c of this, and b/c that always happens to me

anyone else always triumph in the first round and then have that yearly implosion in the latter rounds?

that's me every year

One of the most interesting dynamics of the NCAA tournament to me is how crowds at different locations react. With the new pod systems we often times see two teams from the same conferences in the same venue. Obviously this doesn't apply to archrivals like Duke and UNC, but it is a generic pattern.

ACC fans seem to really rally behind other ACC teams. I was at the State-UConn game in DC Hodge's frosh year. The arena was 75% Terps fans and we know there is no love lost between us and the Terps (even back then) but they were fully behind us and rooting for us. In other venues I've seen ACC fans back other ACC teams even chanting "ACC! ACC!" when they win. I've always wondered what to attribute this too? Southern hospitality? Conference pride? I don't know...

Then you look at Big East teams. Syracuse fans, Villanova fans, Georgetown fans and on down the line NEVER root for conference teams in the tourney. In fact, 'Nova fans were BOOING UConn like it was their job.

My idea is that these are most urban fanbases with the pro mentality. I'm pretty sure Yankees fans don't root for the Red Sox for "AL East pride" and that carries over in to college sports.

^Well I think other ACC fans might boo UNC and Duke in the NCAA tournament. So maybe the rest of the Big East fans have that same mentality towards UConn.

Just a guess though.
