I know it was mentioned before but it is official now. Geathers out for the game either medically or for a 1 game suspension.

damn you! I'll be working (or at least pretending to) at this time tomorrow. I will have a beer cracked at 12:25 though, and all this beer-in-the-shower talk is making me contemplate having one tomorrow morning, despite my unfortunate requirement of working a 1/2 day.

i think RW will throw a pick tomorrow. i just have the feeling the streak will end in week 1 and then we can all move on.
obviously, i hope im dead wrong. but Culliver is an all-sec type of player in their secondary and he's usually hawking around the ball.
However, i think Owen is one of the best, if not THE best, route runner in the ACC... 9/2/2009 12:39:35 PM |

There mascot is a freakin chicken. I hope they bring Sir Big Spur (that's the chicken's official name) and it can be scared just like Wofford's terrier when we played them.

re: spencer getting off the jam. Our receivers didn't have too much of a problem last year and their D was better, we just dropped balls. We also didn't have a problem on anyone else really in teh conference and they have another year under their belt. 9/2/2009 1:43:35 PM |

if Spencer can hold on to the ball...this might be his year to actually lead the nation instead of third. third nationally isnt shabby9/2/2009 1:51:01 PM |

If he caught the ball he would be the number one receiver in the nation easy, hes got speed, the ability to get open, and just needs to shed those butterfingers. 9/2/2009 1:52:50 PM |

yeah, he can definitely get open just got to hold onto the ball. He needs to picture the ball as a garter cause he had no problems catching that at the wedding we went to. 9/2/2009 1:54:39 PM |

^ If spencer can have the third best average among receivers nationally with all the fail catches and missed touchdown opportunities, then he can easily be one of the best with a good season. 9/2/2009 2:21:00 PM |

what's spencer's 40? he may not be a top college WR this year but if he can run in the low 4.4s he could easily go pretty high in the draft, a la troy williamson 9/2/2009 2:22:01 PM |

^^^^^ Yea I much prefer a team that has a solid ground attack, but with Wilson and Glennon both having great arms, its not a stretch to associate Spencers skill level with that of the nations top receivers. Sure he might not get the yards they have, but TD and completion % are more important imo. 9/2/2009 2:40:03 PM |

why would you play 2 quarterbacks in a big game like this if you didn't have to?
especially when you have the best qb in the ACC
let him get experience against cupcakes

jeez, do y'all not read anything in the weeks prior to the game? TOB has been said multiple times over the past month or so that Glennon will see playing time in the first game. He's said that it's not definite when or for how long, they're going to do it by series or situation and as the game dictates/allows.
and, ^yes, i couldn't have said it better myself. I don't know that i've ever been this consumed/disabled by a season opener.
