Went back and watched the highlights...it's like Bale has an extra gear that no one else on the field has. He would just turn it out and blow past any defender that stepped to him.

I honestly don't feel like he's that fast. If you watch him run, he's just able to sprint at absolute top speed for basically the entire length of the pitch. Most people sprint for short bursts and just run between the bursts. But this kid can run for days. And he runs with great power as well.

So it's basically a combination of stamina, strength, and just pure determination. Everything that a 21 year old should be playing with. It won't be there in another 5-6 years though. The good news is that he's a fantastic player on top of all that, so anything he loses will be replaced with skill and experience.
