I even emailed Yahoo about it, no reply yet. Has to be some sort of database error.

Aquilani on a loan to Italy? Stupid.

Kuyt to Inter? Even stupider.

Neymar signs a 5 year extension with Santos

He let that new national team coach get in his ear and made a big mistake not stepping up to the big boy league in my opinion.

Premier League isn't for everybody

granted, my knowledge of Neymar is limited to a couple of highlight youtube videos and the Brazil-USA friendly but that kid doesn't need to risk getting beat to hell right now... Brazilian league is fine for now until he's physically ready to move on and if I were him, I'd want to go to Spain

I applaud his move, kid's 18 and there's no reason for him to go get caught up in Chelsea's bullshit.

^^ I am.

Aquilani isn't a world beater or anything but when he's healthy, I thought he was fine. If Woy really wants to count on Poulsen/Masch (who still might be gone)/Lucas for midfield creativity (after Cole's inevitable injury) then whatever.

Did he? Pele never played in Europe and is widely considered the best player to have ever touched a ball. Maybe that's because he was never put under the pressure of constant ridiculous expectations, and was allowed to just play. Neymar came right out and said it wasn't about the money for him - so that means it's got to be about the pleasure of it. You can't really argue with that, especially if he gets pleasure from scoring bags of goals in Brazil. It's not like there isn't a precedent for it already set by someone else....

^^^ I see your point.

However, it's never about the money for the truly great players as they will get paid no matter where they are, it is about playing with and against the best players in the world and seeing where you stack up.

Admittedly, as another user has pointed out, most of us haven't seen him on anything but youtube and that one friendly, but all the reports and everything I've read and the limited action I've seen him in leads me to believe he was ready. Staying home is great and all, but I'm questioning his competitive spirit if he would rather be a big fish in a small pond.

No way he sees out that contract. He'll be bought out before he hits 21.

^^^^
Prior to the 1990s players tended to stay in domestic leagues, with some exceptions like when Columbia started buying up everyone's players after getting kicked out of FIFA. The Champions League and modern TV rights deals have completely altered the economics of the game by steering the flow of money and talent to upper eschelon teams in the upper eschelon leagues. Pele isn't much of a comparison, considering Brazil generally took players from their top domestic teams to the World Cup really until the 1990s (ushering in the most successful era for the National Team since Pele retired).

just looked it up cause i was bored. owen was the joint top scorer in the epl with 18 in the 97-98 season (when he was 17 first half and 18 second half of the season). he scored 23 the next season but im not sure if he was the leagues leading scorer that season...cant think of a teenager that has been that impressive since

would that be a good fit for United?

First I had heard of the Diarra rumors... funny how all three mentioned were midfielders when the problems are in the back line and up front. I hope Harry doesn't stop with the Gallas signing.

Also, Blackpool vs Arsenlol on ESPN tomorrow morning. Nothing would make me happier than to see the tangerine dream roll!

If Fabregas and Van Persie play at least 45 minutes each, Arsenal wins 3-1.

Wow, Blackpool's roster is the biggest ragtag piece of shit I've ever seen a Premiership team have. You know, aside from Marlon Harewood
