DeAngelo was the first manager that wasn't from the DM days, hence the changes (i.e. taking on a secretary).

The new secretary (Jordan?) is too attractive and distracting. The Office is full of mediocre regular looking people, then they throw in this model looking girl, not falling for it

Spader got a lot of face time, and was probably the best part of the show. I hope he gets it, but I don't know off the top of my head if there is anything (another project) keeping him from joining the show.

Read an article that said he was on set to film an internal Berkshire promo with the cast. They convinced him to stay and film a quick scene. He wasn't aware of the show before he arrived on set.
