Wouldn't trade a good big man for a scorer that's never put it all together. Pairing Jennings with monta will be exciting but too small to defend and no one else will ever get the ball.
Should've just drafted Chris Paul instead 3/14/2012 12:17:09 AM |

Dantoni would've been good if you traded melo for some fast athletic wing that could hit the 3ball.
Now you've gotta trade chandler and Melo for Howard and bring Jeff Van Gundy back to coach. 3/14/2012 4:30:02 PM |

Carmelo has really never been all that good, but he's playing his worst basketball yet this season.
The Knicks have a serious issue right now. They need a coach who won't play their bad players.
The reason for their recent skid can be attributed to the return of three people who are playing really poorly this season. Amare, Baron Davis, and JR Smith. Those guys have to be benched immediately as they are all net negatives right now. You can't win with negative WP/48 guys getting minutes, it's just too much to overcome. While they are at it, quit playing Bill Walker and Iman Shumpert too who are basically zeroes and Douglas who is having one of the worst seasons in the NBA.
They need to go with their productive players who are
Lin, Fields, Carmelo, Novak, and Chandler. Harrellson is the 6th man. Bill Walker and Shumpert are your 7th/8th. The rest of the guys should be getting very minor minutes unless they ever find their games.
This isn't rocket science. Play the guys who help you win and sit the guys who help you lose. 3/14/2012 7:42:00 PM |

So Linsanity is over for this season? 3/14/2012 9:44:44 PM |
face All American 8503 Posts user info edit post |
He's still a productive player and he's a huge upgrade over Douglas who was killing the Knicks this year (after being decent last year).
But no he's not going to drop 30 and 10 every night. That was a crazy phenomenon.
His turnovers are still way too high but his high steals help offset that. His assist numbers are good and he gets to the line.
I think the Knicks get in as the #8 seed but that's contigent on someone taking my recommendation above to play their good players and not their bad ones.
Milwaukee on the other hand replaces Stephen Jackson (also one of the worst players in the NBA this year) with a marginal SG in Monta Ellis. I wonder if having Monta and Jennings in the same backcourt will help mitigate their negative effects since their worst quality is shooting too much. 3/14/2012 9:54:44 PM |

yeah, just goes to show how truly overrated D.Rose is. They beat the Heat without him. Don't get me wrong Rose is a great player, but giving him the MVP last year was just so random. It was kinda like in little league where everyone gets an MVP shirt. Rose is better than he was last year, but he's still not an elite player or anything.
Anyway, let's talk about the Heat for a second. Lebron is having arguably the greatest season of all-time. He is just absolutely dismantling people. Wade is also having another great season.
They are getting great role production from Battier, Chalmers, Anthony, Haslem, Miller, and even James Jones. All of them are playing productively.
The only shitty player they have getting minutes is Norris Cole.
So why are they vulnerable in the postseason with all these terrific role players and Lebron having a historic season???
Chris Bosh. He can't be considered one of the "big 3" anymore as he has regressed beyond belief. He has gone from > .200 WP/48 to .100 WP/48 in the span of two seasons. That is truly incredible. He should be MORE productive being paired with LBJ and instead he's become a marginal starter. He needs to be traded but the rumor is that he won't be because there was a lot of tampering done to get the "Big two + Bosh" deal done and they are scared he will bury the organization if he gets traded. 3/15/2012 12:18:40 AM |

face All American 8503 Posts user info edit post |
James jones and norris cole would have zero value in a trade.
Bosh is still viewed as a star (even though he's not playing like one this year) and they could get a lot of help for him.
The Heat don't really need his offense that much anyway and he's terrible against the Bulls because he just stands around and lets them kill him on the glass.
How many points did Chicago get off rebounds while he just stood there and watched last night? It was a joke, they need a big man. 3/15/2012 10:54:52 AM |
jbrick83 All American 23447 Posts user info edit post |
^ On point. I respect Joel Anthony's effort, but he just isn't big/athletic enough for what they need. He's serviceable against the teams that don't have good big men, but they're going to have trouble in the playoffs against Orlando and Chicago...and the Lakers if the LA can make it that far. OKC will destroy them on the glass as well.
Bosh has just turned into a bitch since he got to Miami. Not that he wasn't a little soft in Toronto, but I guess he was a little tougher up there because he had to carry the team. He's really cowered into his role with the Heat.
They need to keep Jones though. At some point they'll need his three point shooting and Miller in unreliable to stay healthy and he sucked it up in the playoffs last year.
They need a solid big man (at the least, a bigger body to rebound and play defense) in the worst way. I love Haslem, but he's not big enough. And effort will only get you so far with Joel. He got pushed around like crazy last night. 3/15/2012 11:34:05 AM |

That's why Mike Miller's health is so important. He's an incredible rebounder for a perimeter player and that's what the Heat need.
Anthony is much improved this season and Haslem is healthy and good again (he was awful in the playoffs except for that one game). But I agree with you they are undersized against the Bulls terrific frontline of Noah, Boozer, Asik, and Gibson.
However, Wade and LBJ (and miller) are all terrific rebounders so the Heat do have the ability to compete on the glass if they dedicate themselves to it in the playoffs. Bosh used to be a really good rebounder, I'm not sure what has happened to him these last two years. He is playing like a nancy boy this year. 3/15/2012 1:06:43 PM |

Howard waived his right to be a free agent after this season, so he probably won't be traded and will be with the Magic next season. Hurts the Mavs, but I think it is actually better for him because the Magic aren't actually that bad now and they can probably build around him. 3/15/2012 1:15:03 PM |

This constant superstars will he be traded/resigned/free agent thing is getting so annoying in the NBA.
It's partially because of the stupid max player salary rule that gives all the big markets such an unfair advantage. 3/15/2012 1:48:14 PM |

Wow this is crazy.
Not a bad trade for the Nuggets. Nene was having a bad season and he's clogging up minutes from Kenneth Faried who is already a star. McGee is a solid player. I've got money on the Nuggets to win West at 25:1 and to win 37 games so I'm happy if they can get their chemistry quickly and do something to stop playing Al Harrington who is submarining their season.
Good move to dump Nick Young by the Wizards he is an awful player.
Good trade for the Lakers, Sessions is a nice upgrade over Fisher. Also Jordan Hill is a nice player this season. If only they could get rid of Artest so he didn't keep Matt Barnes off the floor (having a big season).
Weird deal for the Spurs but i see what they are doing. Jefferson was having a nice season and Stephen Jackson is a huge negative this year. And they had to give up a first round pick. But it was a total long term salary dump and so they could play their younger forwards like Green and Leonard (better than Jefferson) more.
Houston just got a whole lot more dangerous by adding Camby (still a top center) to go with Dalembert. Lot of size and depth on that team.
Total dump by the blazers to drop camby and gerald, they knew they were out and just wanted to save $ and gain some draft picks i guess.
Gerald helps the nets but not that much and i doubt its enough to convince deron to stay.
Lots of moves for once.

Fisher will be a nice addition for the Thunder. He's not really good anymore obviously, but there was no way they could go into the postseason with Reggie Jackson as their backup PG he's been a disaster this season.
Westbrook plays big minutes anyway, but you can't plug someone in for 5-6 minutes that goes 0-3 with 2 turnovers every game in the playoffs. Plus Fisher can probably help them strategically if they run into the Lakers in the playoffs. 3/20/2012 10:15:26 PM |
