lets all be happy that they didn't fuck up and got the 3 guys in this year that should have got in this year: two of the best pitchers of the 90's and the best hitter MLB had since ted williams.
biggio and piazza will get in soon enough. next year could have a big class: randy johnson & pedro martinez should both get in first ballot, and smoltz has a good case to as well.
looking at the future eligible years, there aren't many standout guys in '16, '17, '18. Really just Griffey in 2016 (maybe trevor hoffman). Pudge in 2017 (Manny Ramirez is also eligible in 2017, but steroids). 2018 has Chipper Jones (i don't want to upset all you braves fans, but i'm not sure he's gonna be a first ballot HOFer)

^Chipper is the 2nd best switch hitter of all time and one of few that has a career line of 300/400/500. Not to mention he has a batting title, an MVP and a World Series Ring. 1/10/2014 5:26:26 PM |

Selig says in the last 50 years, he's never seen anything like A-Rod's cheating
is he the worst commissioner in pro sports history or what 1/12/2014 8:06:13 PM |

^^ LOL at comparing Tony Gwynn to Barry Bonds or Frank Thomas. Yeah Gwynn was the best hitter for average in his generation, but dude had zero power. Players like Bonds, Thomas, Pujols, etc have all been much more dangerous as an opponent than Gwynn ever was.
^ Selig must not be following the UNC scandal!

^ I guess hitter only means batting average to you? Defend your Tony Gwynn post... 1/13/2014 1:26:56 PM |

fuck bud selig. i don't think a-rod will be very successful escalating this to the federal level, but i would love nothing more than to see him go completely scorched earth and bring down selig and all of his cronies. they won't say shit about what a-rod has done other than, "trust us. it's bad," and they obtained whatever evidence they have illegally. all the while selig gets to maintain the false image of himself as the white knight cleaning up steroids from baseball. what a joke. 1/13/2014 5:58:43 PM |

Don't be so dense. Where in that statement does it say power hitter? 1/13/2014 6:39:16 PM |

So you value singles over HRs? That's pretty dense.
As for the Yankees signing that Tanaka guy, they obviously think he'll be better than Darvish. He is only 25 which is young for a Japanese pitcher coming to MLB and he was a ridiculous 24-0 last year. Here's hoping he sucks the donkey dick though...1/22/2014 11:05:47 AM |
