How restrictive can a school be on where a guy transfers? I know a lot of things are rumors but if there were any truth to some of them it would be difficult for me not to make sure he has to transfer to a school he doesnt really want to.

^^ if you restrict to anyone other than schools in your conference or confirmed on your schedule you're an asshole and it will do nothing but hurt you.

Players are all boys and don't give a fuck about fans or rivalries so it'll only make him more likely to not recommend the program/coach.

I don't buy that theory at all. I think Purvis just wanted to be a star PG and wherever he lands is where he thinks he'll be primed for the NBA. Which is ridiculous, but at least it makes sense.

I am not sure who said Gott wanted him off the team but it certainly wasnt me. It was Purvis's choice to transfer from everything I have heard, but that doesnt mean the school can't be restrictive on where they let the guy go.

From what I understand Gott basically told Purvis after the season he needed to have an attitude adjustment and buy into the team concept rather than his role in the offense. We see how Purvis took that. This is just part of the territory now with recruiting these guys who want to be one and done. The good part is you are getting a likely good talented kid. The bad news is a lot of them have big ego's and are looking out for themselves rather than coming to play on a team and if things dont go their way the fingers get pointed at everyone but themselves. I always liked Purvis and hope he does well wherever he ends up, but as others have said once a kid peace's out in his head its better that they are gone anyways before they cause more chemistry issues.

After how this offseason has gone so far I wont feel comfortable in either of them until the date to declare for the draft has passed and the transfer period or whatever is over

Yeah I've known it was common practice to restrict from the same conference and future opponents I just didnt know how restrictive people could be. Like sure you can transfer but not to a BCS conference school or any school east of the mississippi or something like that haha.

Seriously though next year is going to suck. 7 maybe 8 guys in the rotation again including Vandy. Only one player with significant ACC playing time and only two with significant college experience period (Warren and Turner). Good lord Vandy is going to see 15 minutes per game

The difference between Wilson and Purvis is so fucking massive I can't believe someone would be so dumb to make that comparison even if they were trolling.

Wilson's coach already established that he was ok with him playing baseball. He only stopped being ok with it once he wanted to run him off so he could play his shitty QB recruit instead.

Also, Wilson is a top QB in the NFL and Purvis sucks.

The more accurate comparison would be if Gott had run Zo off so he could play Purvis at PG this year.
