I would think they would have to double that to get close to Le Toon's valuation.

The problem Arse have now is that everybody knows how much money they have to spend and the desperate situation they are in as the window winds down, so the prices will be that much more inflated.

Just go ahead and add 5 mill to whatever you think market value for the player actually is

On the topic of Arse:

People are finally saying what I've been saying for years. Wenger is shit.

maybe I'm being retarded and overly simplistic...but to my mind what Arsenal need (and have needed for some years) is a dependable defense.

Sign 1-2 center-backs and a defensive midfielder, all world-class or close to it. Arsenal have loads of attacking options, but scoring goals is no good if you're conceding them on a regular basis. For like 5 years, I've been expecting Arsenal to sign some defending talent, and they've never done it. It boggles my mind, really.

Second fewest goals conceded in Prem last year.

A true ball winning DM is desperately needed. If only one was available last week from Bayern looking for a regular spot on a CL side for a good price.

Anyway, Koscielny is actually a top CB, certainly in England and if Sagna can get his form back he's elite too. Mert/Verm..... Meh.

If I'm reading this correctly, Arsene had to pay 10k to Soton every time Ox made a 20+ min appearance, so he was subbing him just after the 70 min mark to avoid it like the cheap fuck he is.

But he forgot about injury time and had to pay anyway.

HAHAHAHAHAHA

what a dolt

Spurs should feel really fucking stupid for never finishing ahead of Arsenal with such an incompetent leader. Is it 20 years yet or just 19?

Wenger has been acting the fool lately and Arsenal are an easy target but people overreact to everything they do or fail to do. And every time they have their backs against the wall, like tomorrow, they seem to come through alright.

I do agree that a true football director is needed. All decisions, including negotiations, should never be left to manager. It's silly..

Bale transfer should get done soon, especially since it looks like they're getting Willian too. Nice signing but 30 mil for a non-scoring winger is a bit steep.

[Edited on August 20, 2013 at 8:12 AM. Reason : jesus, and Lamela too]

ESPN transfer thing (On The Move) is about 40 Spurs posts, 5 Arsenal and two other clubs.

Bale is obviously off but Spurs should still be favorites for fourth easily. But they still need to prove that they can finish strong..

And Lamela is EXACTLY what Arsenal need... I can't believe they were never in for him. That is pathetic..

So basically, they've spun the Bale money off into - Paulinho, Soldado, Willian, Lamela, and possibly Coentrao?

Not a bad window.

Fucking Real Madrid ruins everything.

My review of Arsenal's window:

Best signing: Sanogo
Worst signing: Sanogo
Best attacking newcomer: Sanogo
Best defending newcomer: Sanogo
Biggest present impact: Sanogo
Biggest future impact: Sanogo

You forgot Chadli and looks like Halilovic too and possibly Chiraches

I hate to lose Bale, but faced with the reality of it happening, the club got maximum value at 93M plus Coentrao and played the transfer market perfectly instead of taking the money and then scrambling when everyone knew how much they had in the bank.

We're a better club at the end of this window without him.

Not every player was bought with the Bale money though. My quick math says those 4 players + Coentrao are around 95.

Liverpool basically upgraded with every transfer, got rid of high wages and players that weren't in future plans, kept Suarez, and at least made attempts to get some big signings. I'm pleased with this window too actually.

I REALLY should start working this morning but one last thing.

Arsenal can save face and solidly compete for top three with a few moves. Out of favor Di Maria now that Bale looks assured, Begovic, Kondogbia and some cover at CB. Ideally I would like a CF too but £25M for a guy like Michu... Nah.

[Edited on August 20, 2013 at 8:42 AM. Reason : And I don't think Di Maria would come but it was a thought I had]

^^ True. I just looked and we've gotten 26.5M for outgoings in addition to TV deal money.

I wouldn't be surprised to see more to come. Levy likes to keep a lot of irons in the fire.

Don't forget Capoue. That guy is going to be an absolute beast. Wait til we play one of the other top teams and line up with any combination of Capoue/Dembele/Sandro/Paulinho in midfield. It's going to be like a Ferrari crashing into a brick wall. Spurs have the strongest and most athletic team in the Premier League this season.

Capoue is good until he touches the ball. He's a complete donkey.

Ribs asked a few days ago but seems everyone is fit tonight save Ox obviously including Monreal who will be first choice LB going forward I'm sure. He's actually a bit of good business they've done recently.

He doesn't need to touch the ball, we've got players for that. He just needs to stop your team from touching the ball.

So is "BBC reporting" any more reliable than "saw on twitter?"

I think BBC is one of the more reliable sources. But anything short of being official from the club or a sudden surge of activity on news sites and twitter leaves significant doubt.

I was emotionally over it weeks ago.

At least Levy played the damn thing perfect bringing in a ton of talent first instead of just fucking the team and showing no ambition the way Arse did with Clichy, Nasri, Cesc, and RVP.

And we aren't done yet even after Willian and Lamela.

This doesnt have to do with Benzema or any deal in particular, but I have a hunch that a great deal of what Sky report is aimed at having people go place wagers on skybet on the side of the wager that they currently need more money on.

If anyone is curious just spend time looking at their odds in correlation to what they report for the next 12 days. They stand to make a killing duping people.

They are a corrupt business imo.

This is exactly what I'm talking about

SSN reporter "breaks" news that Willian is in talks with Chelsea. Coincidentally, right after that skybet reopens betting with odds asking for money on Chelsea. It's all a fucking trick.

FWIW, the people that have actual connections to Spurs say Willian is still on. Work permit has been applied for and they are still haggling with Kia over agent fees.

Somebody else needs to make a bid for Mata if he's not going to get regular PT at Chelsea. That cat can ball.

He's also collected plenty of individual awards, including multiple time POY at age 24, which conveniently got left out.

It really isn't his fault that Spurs don't have the same quality around him that ManU did Ronaldo when they were collecting all those team awards.
