circlejerk? I have clearly just said I don't expect United to win in the next round but I wouldn't be surprised if United did because the individual ability is there but United haven't played with the cohesion that I saw yesterday all year (except for Arsenal at home). Its hilarious if people think this team isn't all of a sudden good enough (same team that destroyed the EPL last year). Managerial decisions and lack of confidence have been the biggest reasons for United's struggle not individual ability. Some thickheaded people in here.

You guys are the one hoping United get circlejerked.

Tried not to but its about time I really question Moyes' ability. Tonight and the last 5 matches (barring Leverukusen) has me worried and at a loss for words as to how a free scoring United team from last year can go from that to absolutely no creativity. Moyes seems to have no plan B. If Plan A goes to shit then that's it, game over, see you next week. Its ridiculous. Against City he couldn't be bothered to use all three substitutions available to him. Today he takes off a defensive player for a grandfather and doesn't use any of the attacking options available either. If we were playing Bayern today with those tactics the scoreline would have been close to 10-0 I think. We have the best striker up front and creative outlets like Nani and Kagawa on the bench. Yet we play Valencia. Its just terrible. I can see all three leaving by next year if this is the modus operandi. Moyes has to adapt to the modern game or he is going to be out of a job by December. This is his only chance to impress and forge a legacy but he will have to be a lot more adventurous than being a typical British manager who prefers defense and strength over guile and pace. Its just depressing to watch these days.

^ That analysis was spot on. Liverpool at home last week was about the same. I don't think you guys understand the difference between Moyes setting up defensive to lose and letting the team play attacking free flowing football, which he has done on occasion. I have always maintained Moyes has brought this upon himself, those points in that post very clearly still stand.

Its whatever, as I said people love to hate on United and people like you two lack the ability to discuss football appropriately.

100% accuracy

now for my next predictions

Madrid - Dortmund
Atleti - Barca
PSG - Chelsea
Bayern - United

Atleti - Barca the hardest matchup to call of the round. Could go either way on it, but leaning towards Barca going out due to their defensive frailties. The other 3 matches are just academic. Can't wait to see Zlatan embarrass John Terry.

also, wazza, dude. you're not doing yourself any favors. please stop talking.

I will stop talking about United vs Bayern and let United to their talking on the pitch. I hope aimorris and ribs continue being cocky cunts. I guarantee they won't be seen for a good few days if United were to unexpectedly win against Bayern.

As much as I would like to see Atheltico win, I just can't see Barcelona losing over two legs to them. Hopefully Costa does something crazy but for me Barca go through on Away goals.

Also don't know about PSG over Chelsea. Chelsea is a lot more disciplined and between Cahill, Azpilicueta, and Terry can certainly contain Ibra et el.

Madrid - Dortmund
Atleti - Barca
PSG - Chelsea
Bayern - United

United won't get embarrassed like the arm chair gurus would oh so love them to be. It would absolutely destroy them inside if United were to win.

Your post just seems optimistic towards United that's why I was surprised. I would like to know why you expect United to show up against Bayern though? They had something to play for last weekend against Liverpool and they lost. They had something to play for in the first leg at Olympiakos and only that performance is worse than the Liverpool one from last weekend....

Disgusting Clasico was disgusting. There were three penalties, and in all three of them, the player went to the ground of his own free will and volition. Also, there was an incident where Fabregas and Pepe were in each others' faces following Barca's second, and then suddenly, each realizes that the other is touching his face, and both go down clutching their faces in agony. Games like this make me proud to be associated primarily with English football.

It was a very good game as soccer games go, just disgusting.

^^ Clasicos are usually disgusting. Compared to the Mourinho Clasico's though this was a lot better. I was pleasantly surprised at the free flowing football and overall I think it was a good match. The first half was one of the most frantic games of football I have seen. The la liga title race is actually very interesting for once. Would love to see Athletico win this one.

So it is going to be pretty depressing viewing tomorrow as Bayern will show just how far United have fallen in the European elite category. However, as a United fan I can't help but be excited for it. I am a bit scared of what Bayern will do but its better than I expected.

The way I see it, it wouldn't be shocking if Bayern score 3+ at Old Trafford but it would be amazing if United got a result tomorrow, any kind of result really.

I was going to say my nerves are worse than they were when United played Barcelona for the 2nd time in the final at Wembley (the only other time I have actually been nervous going into a match) but I am actually rather calm. Probably going to lose but I hope for once this year United can show the mental toughness and go down fighting. I am actually pretty pumped, not because I think United will win but because regardless of form this is still a big European night and its always exciting.

I think we lose only by one goal if we put up a good fight. A 0-0 would be mint. But that would mean parking the bus at home & Moyes getting killed in the papers tomo.

No it wouldn't. Any result or non-beatdown will get him plaudits, no matter how it's earned.

Against Bayern Munich this season, I think that's fair.

Good result. Horrible football but good result. Should have been 2. Bayern for all of their possession only really had one good chance and they took it. As I said, United will go down fighting, so take your 3-0 4-0 predictions and shove it.

The crowd at Old Trafford was fantastic, except for those mongs near the away goal. Bunch of idiots and classless twats for throwing stuff at players.
