Miracle lateral play by miami called back with block in the back
10/31/2015 10:51:08 PM
or not, no penalty bailout. which is bullshit because there was a block in the back way back at the miami 20 to set up the blockers and the runback
10/31/2015 10:52:22 PM
Had no idea you could review a penalty[Edited on October 31, 2015 at 10:59 PM. Reason : other than targeting obviously]
10/31/2015 10:58:05 PM
Amazing last 15 minutes with Michigan and Miami finishes. And yea a block in back should not be reviewable
10/31/2015 11:02:12 PM
as far as I know block in the back isn't a reviewable penalty. additionally, a player from the Miami bench ran onto the field during the play, with their helmet off, but they didn't "review" that. oh, and there's thisI mean, fuck duke, but they got screwed. I'd protest the game
10/31/2015 11:02:30 PM
ACC officiating strikes again. Also I really don't understand why PI, block in the back, holding, etc is not reviewable. I know we can't have every penalty be reviewed, but maybe give each coach one penalty challenge a game or something. Too much at stake for teams to lose due to blown calls. All sports should strive to get the calls right regardless if it slows the game down some.
10/31/2015 11:40:21 PM
3 straight weeks now a special teams play decides a game...maybe coaches will take it more seriously like the pros do

The fact that the NCAA still doesn't employ full time, professional officials is fucking ridiculous. They make billions of dollars off of this sport and still won't pony up for anything more than guys who do this as a hobby. The Duke game today is fucking embarassing. Anyone with eyes could see that the knee was clearly down on replay, and they missed at least 2 blocks in the back.I'm sure the ACC will issue an apology on Monday, fat fucking lot of good that does anybody, and it's not like the officiating crew will face any kind of sanctions or discipline. They're hurting themselves too since Duke will now end up as a less desirable team when bowls start picking who they invite.

baby blue buttholes not in the CFP top 25 wow, Clemson #1, Bama #4, ND #5, Baylor #6, Pac 12 isn't even close[Edited on November 3, 2015 at 7:15 PM. Reason : add another note]
11/3/2015 7:08:59 PM
PAC 12 isn't close to what?
11/3/2015 7:27:12 PM
lol at bama being in the top 4.
11/3/2015 7:29:51 PM
^^ to being in the top 4I know this stuff will clear up by the end of the year, but its amazing how bad these initial rankings are. after next week, unless Bama beats LSU and they only drop to 4, ND will be in the top 4 based solely on their name.
11/3/2015 7:34:16 PM
^What? If you subscribe to the idea that Clemson is #1, then it makes sense that Notre Dame would be really close.
11/3/2015 7:37:21 PM
11/3/2015 7:49:27 PM
well, at this point...yeah, it's all pretty meaningless.
11/3/2015 7:54:31 PM
^Selection Sunday won't really work until they expand to 8 teams and even then it won't work too well. It's too obvious who is in. Basketball works because there are tons of at-large bids and way more teams on the bubble.
11/3/2015 8:02:59 PM
Clemson was boosted into the #1 spot after overcoming a solid NC State team on Saturday. Lol at butthurt Alabama haters everywhere. They lost on some fluke plays to Ole Miss and are definitely a contender right now.

Did we learn nothing from last year? Don't even bother discussing or looking at these rankings until the final ones come out because they made it very obvious they don't mean shit.
11/4/2015 8:26:19 AM
^hell, i feel like they only reason they release them on a weekly basis is purely for entertainment and the public discussion about it. it's not really necessary to release any rankings until the end of the year, right? just like the NCAAT committee doesn't release any kind of rankings or mock brackets.
11/4/2015 9:15:31 AM
My biggest problem with it is you hype up a whole fan base and group of kids only to crush them with no explanation. When we had the BCS people could figure the math out and know if they even had a shot. I think the last week or two they need to either base their rankings with the mindset that everyone wins their remaining games and then if someone loses no one has any issue with them dropping out, or they need to be very clear with how things will change based on outcomes. For instance, last year they should have simply said right now we have TCU in, but it doesnt matter how bad they beat their last opponent if Ohio State wins the big 10 they will pass them. Clearly the easier option is to just project out how would we rank them if everyone wins their final games and then adjust for losses.
11/4/2015 9:29:39 AM
I never got the point of doing the weekly playoff projections. If they wanted to have one before the conference championship weekend, then sure I could get that. But to have a month or so of weekly projections?
11/4/2015 9:35:30 AM
11/4/2015 9:44:59 AM
^^i guess the BCS standings were always released on a weekly basis so maybe this just falls in line with that. but yeah, other than entertainment and being able to further drum up discussion around the playoff, it serves no purpose.[Edited on November 4, 2015 at 9:47 AM. Reason : f]
11/4/2015 9:47:18 AM
I don't understand why they chose to tie their hands with this subjective bs (obviously, to sell more tickets). It would have been so easy to come up with a completely objective system for who gets to compete for the title. Alabama Notre dame and Ohio State sell more tickets than Baylor.
11/4/2015 10:01:00 AM
It's all good. Clemson will soon Clempsom.
11/4/2015 10:10:50 AM
My hope is still that one day we will go to 8 teams. Each power 5 conf champ, 1 conf champ from non power 5 so long as they meet some criteria, 2 wild cards. Committee can select the wildcards and seed the playoffs.

11/4/2015 6:53:53 PM
They'll be more fans there than at a Miami home game.
11/4/2015 6:55:42 PM
aside from ND, that looks like a State OOC schedule
11/4/2015 6:57:32 PM
next year, we have South Carolina (in Charlotte), @ECU, ODU, Notre Dame
11/4/2015 6:58:37 PM
I know we're getting better, but the past few years have been abortions. Miami scheduling that shit and wanting to be taken seriously is funny, at least we have the excuse of not being a football school. plus, that ND game they have is mandatory, so no credit there.Doeren better step his game up, he'll be lucky to go 2-2 with that OOC so that means 4 ACC wins in one year to make the toilet bowl, not two and a half.
