Alvarado (sp?) is their only real playmaker, so him being out is huge.

Alvarado being out for GT obviously hurts them. I just don’t really think we’ll get much of a break for losing to them before Alvarado got hurt.

Selection committee has taken into account injuries in the past, so I don't think they'll look at GT with/without Alvarado, they'll look at us without Markell and DJ. We'll get a pass for losing the first game of the season in OT without 2 key contributors.

Hope should be that we have the type of season safely puts us in and we're not worrying about the bubbles or a first game loss.

We have a good team, it seems like they're not discipline at times and just lose concentration. App got back in the game in the early part of the second half by just outhussling our guys.

It's a little late to figure this out, but we may be better off playing Funderburk at PF 10-15 minutes a game even with it not being a very natural fit having him and Bates out there because even with that factored in he's just a better player than Hellems or Andree

A 7 man rotation of Johnson, Daniels, Beverly, Bryce, Hellems, Funderburk and Bates should be our lineup for league play. There are a lot of different ways for those guys to play together, but those are the guys who should get the bulk of the minutes. Andree should get some spot minutes, but his playing time needs to go down as we face better competition because he is horrid defensively and is one dimensional on offense.

I can see Johnson, Daniels, Bryce, Hellems and Bates being the lineup to close out games because that's easily the best defensive lineup we have and it's still got guys who can get buckets in multiple ways.

I love the idea of playing Funderburk at the 4 in theory, I just don't think it will happen much because both he and Bates still foul too much and one of them needs to be on the floor at all times.

See, I think Andree's minutes are pretty locked in. Most games he's going to play ~15 and do his role player shit. The couple games he gets hot from 3 or we need the spacing he'll play more and the couple games he's off and/or getting roasted defensively he'll play 5 (and probably still cause us to lose in those 5)

I think Hellems minutes are more "locked in" than Andree. He's 3rd on the team in minutes per game behind Bryce and Johnson. He's not going to just all of a sudden get benched. Also he's playing out of position at the 4 (and especially when he's forced to play the 5.)

Hellems vs Funderburk is a really stupid question. They'll both be over 20 MPG with Hellems on the plus side of 25. They don't play the same position. Hellems is a 3 who is being asked to play the 4 and Funderburk is a 4/5.

I would rank the players in terms of minutes priority and only go down the list according to foul trouble. That means all 8 guys would end up getting a ton of minutes because the guys I have at the top 3 are always going to be in foul troubl. Bryce and Daniels are usually in foul trouble too. If your team defense is ok, it should be alright always having one poor defender on the court. Especially if they play on the perimeter. This isn't the NBA where all five guys on the other team are multilevel threats.
