It was basically just Seabron really screwing up at the line. He’s the only reason we’re even in the game so can’t give him too much shit. But Terq was 9/10, Hellems 7/10 (below his season average but 7/10 is ok).

4/10 from Seabron is just brutal. Was basically the difference in the game

Dowuana was 1/2 from the line but his FTs came late in the 2nd half. Hellems hit his first 6, but then missed 3 in a row, late in the 2nd half. Seabron's ultimately hurt us most, but some of the other misses came at bad times.

I think it does help that KK seems just generally more likable than Gott. But that will only go so far.

Not sure how many fans take this stuff into account but i think KK has also had some bad luck/stuff out of his control (doesn’t excuse losing but still)…for example:
NCAA investigation cost us Saddiq Bey (lottery pick).
Covid cost us a likely NCAAT appearance.
Losing best/most important player to season ending injury now two straight years.
Losing two recruits to NBA early entry (yes, he’s not completely blameless here).

I’m not offering excuses or anything. But IMO, those factors do play into my opinion of KK and I’m willing to cut him some slack for some of that. Maybe fans feels that same way. But yeah…Ive been a little surprised that the calls for his firing haven’t been louder yet.

The fact that his teams play hard all the time gives Keatts alot of slack with the fanbase I think. I have been pretty critical of him, but even I can admit it's nice having a team that always gives a shit which was not the case at times for gott, lowe or even herb.
