yeah the price on the ringtone thing is stupid. some newer songs already are 1.29. i was hoping they would offer some generic rings instead of just songs, but no. i've found other sources but they're all kinda stupid/annoying.

i'm not sure why they would limit the camera thing to the nano. sounds stupid to me but if they're really trying to compete directly with the flip (what they showed on screen), then i guess they have to stick to the nano & its price range. i would still have put them in the touches too.

i'm definitely looking forward to the app organization thing. kinda the genius too.

The plan was to put cameras in the touches too. They even made 1000 touches with cameras but there was a problem with the camera module that they found rather late so they had to end up leaving it out. I'll bet all the case makers are pretty pissed too cause apple released the specs to them weeks ago and they've already started to make cases with holes in them for the camera to see out of.

did anyone upgrade to itunes 9 (without upgrading to OS 3.1) and doesn't see any way to rearrange apps on each screen? under the applications tab i just see the list of applications and checkboxes beside each, no second area for rearranging them...i wonder if you need 3.1 for this to work

I have more than one computer in more than one location. I wanted to copy stuff off the iphone to a second computer (at work) so i could then upgrade the iphone to the latest os and then copy everything back. Because apple is the number 1 in usability, i'll instead have to wait till i get to the original computer (at home) and then do the upgrade.

There are no technical limitations at play here and thats what makes it so fucking retarded. The only reason they do it is to force people to purchase everything through itunes.

1) you know there are tons of apps that can turn your iPhone into a hard drive for this exact purpose. There are also devices that do this for you...i think they call them external hard drives? but i may be mistaken because Steve Jobs hasn't told me anything about those yet.

2) Apple is not a non-profit organization, you may think otherwise but this is not the case.

1) There are no 3rd party sync apps for the iphone yet. Once there are the world will be a better place. If it were accessable as a harddrive device and the onboard ipod software read the songs and tags off the harddrive section of the device it would be fantastic. But thats never been the case for any ipod or iphone. And the idea that I should carry around one copy of my library on an external drive and another copy on my iphone is something only an apple user would think is a solution.

2) i understand that point, but what im getting at is how anyone anywhere can think that itunes is good. Its terrible terrible software designed to enforce apples monopoly on the market.

itunes is a huge piece of garbage and is the only major failing of the iphone.

i have no problems with itunes. i have a 30gb 3 year old ipod that will sync with my home imac and my work dell pc, transfer music from both computers to the ipod. it won't go the other way, but i don't need it too.

my iphone will only sync with my imac at home, it says it can't be formatted for use with both a pc and a mac, but i don't really need it to be. my ipod is still my main music listening device.

i'm pretty sure they're not supposed to work with a mac and a pc at the same time, but my ipod magically does. i don't know how it happened.

I don't know, man. It's pretty dumb that you can only put music onto and take music off of your iPhone with only one computer using iTunes (excluding your iTunes purchases).

It seems silly that if I buy an MP3 from another service (for example Amazon) while at work, I have to wait to get home to put it actually on my iPhone. Apple Support says if I had an iPod, I'd be fine, but because I have the iPhone, "Erase and Sync" is my only option.
