I also liked Dead Rising, although like morpheus said, its difficult and the save system sucks

HOWEVER...once you learn that its better to go through and die a bunch to get your stats up, THEN you start playing, its a lot more fun

^carefully...try to hide behind a tree and get their vehicle temporarily stuck, then start blasting on them

^^its kind of hard to explain...its like your entire playthrough of the game is timed...its pretty much impossible to do everything you want or need to the first play through...but if you save some people and get some stats up, then die and start over, you'll have the new stats you earned...after a few times of doing this, your stats will be up enough to have fun playing

The game has a constantly-running timer which controls when in-game events occur. If you're in the wrong place at the wrong time, you may miss an event. This is extremely frustrating for those of us who have "zombie combat rescue OCD" and wish to save all of the civilians. Oh, this one was fun once I realized what you could do. Go bait the humvee, have them chase you into the woods, and then try to get them to run into a tree. When they do this, if you're quick, you can snatch the M2 off the back and mow down all 3 guys with one burst.

shit, the first time i came across the convicts i was able to evade them and get to the next part of the mall...then same thing again...first playthrough never even had to mess with them...eventually did once i had ill weapons

When I was playing around with Dead Rising at my friend's place, I got to that part and tried my hardest to kill those people. I think I got one or two of them a couple of times, but eventually gave up

dead rising was hard, but it was actually fun. i also couldnt kill the convicts at first and didnt want to snag them on a wall or something so i evaded them and went on. eventually when i had better weapons i could go back and get them.

likewise, you could just die like twister said, but it's a lot more fun to try to get through the game the first time with low stats even if you cant save hardly anyone. focus only on the story missions and you'll be fine.

on my second playthrough i went back and tried to save people and it was far easier, but i got to do it both ways.

Yeah, upgraded it in order to play Prototype. The new system is pretty nice, though I still can't figure out how to get it to auto-login to my profile. I know that's an issue of me being dumb and just missing the option, but holy hell it's eluded me for like 2 years now

Speaking of Prototype, the more I play it, the more I realize how much better Web of Shadows was.

It's the newest one -- basically symbiote have overrun the city and you have to stop them.

That's another thing -- WoS and Prototype actually start the same way. You see the city in ruins while you're powered up, get in a fight(?), win, then go back to when everything started so you can see how you got to that point.
