Why is the Nevada game considered such a lock? They're playing a good team. I accidentally put a bet in on that game and submitted it before I could take it off...oh well...go wolfpack.

Going big or going home. That's my new motto. No more than 2 games a night, and only a parlay if I get back up above a limit I've set for myself. Disciplined betting sucks....

I think St. Marys at Santa Clara being FAR from a lock. And I don't really understand that betting strategy.

I try to do at least three NCAA and three NBA games a night...and parlay both of them.

I've yet to miss all of them, and very rarely do I miss more than I get. I most often get 2 out of three right or break even. Then occasionally (like three nights in a row last week) I'll clean up and hit a parlay.

But if you're only going to do one or two games...and you lose...then you're done for the night. I think the more bets you make the better chance you have to make money or at least break even. I've also lost both of the "locks" that I've seen on this board (and have noticed that about 90% of the "locks" I've seen in the past few weeks have lost).

it's definitely not a lock. But it's a pick that I'm very comfortable with because I've now seen St. Mary's twice, and reading about SC's style, it fits right into how St. Mary's can outplay an opponent. I research this one, and I don't like that it's a road game, but I do like the match up. For me, I just get goofy. In craps, I'll win one shoot, and then throw $100 on the table, and 7-out the next roll. I have to be more disciplined, and the way I do that is force myself into some kind of limit. I just need to sit down, and figure out the numbers better so that I do come out in any given night given 2 or 3 bets. I just haven't done that.

no offense, but I would love to see Gonzaga cover this line:

Loyola Marymount +30½ -107

because I don't think it's possible. That's what I said for NCSU +18 against Duke, but +30.5 is even crazier

I looked for at Loyala's schedule and saw that even though they have a horrible record, they don't get blown out that much (with the exception of a game or two...but I think only once by thirty points).

So I say to myself, Gonzaga might kill them, but not by 30. Then I look at Gonzaga's past games and see where they have beaten the shit out of a decent number of teams. So I'm a little worried about this game. Just had a hard time passing up that line.

^ that's still an awesome record. You are hitting 60% through 200 games that is actually pretty remarkable.

2-4 on the night

Pepperdine +5½ -105 W

San Diego -3½ -108 W
Loyola Marymount +30½ -107 L
Wisc Green Bay +4 -105 L

Updated record: 28-21-3

By the way there are some nice games on todays card I'm looking at
UNC -8.5 @ UVA
Marquette -2.5 @ Seton Hall
Pennsylvania -2 vs. Princeton

thoughts?

That UNC line is really attractive. UVa is fucking horrible. But if UNC plays the way they did for 33 minutes against Clemson and UVa has a decent game, then UNC might not cover. Its the "Lawson-factor".

Someone mentioned this in another thread, but for some reason I think that UVA will be one of those teams who "turns it on" in the 2nd Half of ACC play and comes into the ACC Tourney hot as hell.

Singletary vs Lawson-less UNC tonight could be interesting. If that line jumps up to +9 or higher, I may go with UVA. May go with UVA anyways...

My play of the night might end up being Michigan State +2 @ Purdue. Purdue is solid, but I am not sold on them as a big time contender just yet. I think they have a letdown tonight after the big win @ Wiscy and MSU picks up the road win. Thoughts?

yeah that Michigan State line caught my eye too. Should be a hell of a game. It might be best to play the MSU moneyline @ +120. Purdue is on a 9 game winning streak though.

I'm waiting for 5dimes to post their reduced juice lines.

Yea but we also thought that when Clemson played UVA that was when they would turn it around.....

I dont think they have a chance but the line has moved to -9.5 at betus fyi.

I really like

Michigan State +2 vs Purdue
Louisville -7.5 vs Depaul (I like this one the most)
Minnesota -4.5 vs Illinios
UNC -9 vs Viginia

Kentucky +4 vs Vanderbelt is an interesting line as well

I liked the Butler/Wisc line when it was at -4.5 but its at -6 now

Marquette -3 -105
North Carolina -8½ -105
Michigan State ML +120

Well, there was one bad block of about 10 minutes, and otherwise St. Mary's played exactly as I had hoped. Unfortunately, it wasn't enough, but I was really happy that I methodically lost instead of losing because I'm an idiot. ( I think there's a difference...)

yeah the fact that the line moved from -9 to -7 in the UNC game has me worried. Public is hammering UNC and the books are moving the line in the wrong direction. Something is definitely fishy with this game.
