That is ridiculous. The refs have to make a decision in the moment, an announcer or analyst has time to look at it before speaking and yet still says the guy went flying because of his own free will?

pretty obvious pushoff by Snaer

i don't get all the blatant travelling talk though

ok nevermind, just watched it on a device with a better video card...definitely moved his pivot foot a couple times, but it didnt really give him an advantage, so they generally dont call that 35 feet from the basket

What's not to get? He was shuffling his feet like he was fucking Fred Astaire.

The travel was one thing but the elbow to the chest is unforgivable.

Holy shit, that's the first time I saw that! His pivot foot starts where the T hooks on the right side and by the time he takes his dribble it's clear over the middle part of the T on the left side actually above the letter. That's fucking amazing, he shuffled it 3-4 feet! That's not to mention the push.

There's a referee RIGHT THERE...the game was decided on that play??! Embarrassing.

Just happy it wasn't us...

that was unbelievable. kinda reminds me of that duke play a few years ago where the guy changed pivot feet like 4 times and there was no call

Swoffard will get right on it after he finishes inking his scathing rebuke of the UNC academic scandal.

That was actually a legal play. The rules are different when you are on a decal.

i cant remember if i read a link on tww or elsewhere over the last couple days, but apparently the head of officiating or whatever his title is, aka the guy whose been letting a bunch of fouls go uncalled at the end of games, was himself a ref when he called some crucial charge during a tournament game

i read that he made a call in ncaa championship OT game. I just assumed it was that terrible call in the Michigan - Seton Hall game in 1989, but that wasn't a charge so maybe not.

either way, it shows his incompetence

yet somehow he's in charge of all ACC refs

though to be fair, ACC refs sucked dick long before he took over

I wonder if State will get the whistle on a push or travel in the final mintues of a game..

LOL THAT ALREADY HAPPENED AT MICHIGAN.

It's John Clougherty and it was indeed during OT with 3 seconds left in the Michigan - Seton Hall game.

He called a foul on the seton hall guy for bumping Rumeal Robinson as he was driving the lane and dishing. I think SH was up 1 at the time.

^I just watched it. You are right but it was hardly any contact. To be fair, Michigan still could have gone on to make a shot there.

That was some total NC State Shit right there too. ~60% FT Shooter nailing 2 FT to seal the game.

When duke clobbers unc tonight, we'll be tied with unc at 6-5. They still have to play duke again to close out the season while we only have to play unc again (as far as "Good teams" go).

UVa would be the only team above us (Currently 8-3), and they still have to play @UNC, @Miami, and vs. Duke.

If all goes to plan we'll steal #3 in the ACC, get a bye and probably play duke in the quarters. and then enjoy our 6 seed in the tourney for a repeat run of the 1983 season.

^Agreed, regrettably. UVA probably has two or three L's on their remaining schedule so that gaudy 8-3 will probably end up as a 13-5 or a 12-6. But we're highly unlikely to win out, so if they end up 13-5 we won't pass them. And should we both end up at 12-6 they have the tiebreaker in the one game between the teams. No-go there.
*We could still snag a first round bye in the tourney if we handle our business @ UNC. I doubt it--it's the toughest game remaining on our schedule--but if the team can pull it out, that would give UNC six losses (provided Duke performs tonight) and a sweep on our part.*

A team that only goes 7 deep and has an eye on an NCAA run isn't going to be able to leave it all on the line in conference tourney play, either.

we were a #3 seed when we went 11-5 in conference like 10 years ago

if we have a top-4 seed and win the ACC tourney, we'll be higher than a 4 seed

Last year this team responded well after a disappointing stretch of games. I think they have it in them to finish strong, especially considering we should be favored in every remaining game. It'll be a good sign if we blow out VT that this team ready to make a run.

based on the bracket setups, i think it would be in our best interests to stay at a 6-7 seed so we don't have to face a #1 to end up in the sweet 16

I think instead of just winning every single game, the team should strategically lose specific games to fuck with out seeding, that way we'll be sitting pretty come March

I wonder if Zo's injury is gonna cost him 1st team. People are already chirping about shane larkin, but I think that Zo is clearly better.

I think that Larkin's team winning the ACC regular season will have more to do with it than Zo missing 2 games.

We'll see though, Zo is gonna have the superior stats.

Total BS. I am officially butt hurt over this.

If anything Larkin is a streaky Curry type that can get hot, who is playing the point. Zo is a complete PG. Has the superior stats.
